Phnom Penhs frühmorgendliches Brummen um Sie herum, während Sie in Ihrer Hotellobby warten, Ihren Namen auf einem fröhlichen „Willkommens“-Schild, das von Ihrem Fahrer gehalten wird. Fünfzehn Minuten vor Abflug werden Sie in ein komfortables, klimatisiertes Fahrzeug nach Siem Reap gebracht. In den nächsten 5-6 Stunden gleiten Sie durch Kambodschas sich verändernde Landschaften – Reisfelder, Dörfer und offener Himmel – mit entspannenden Toiletten- und Kaffeepausen, die auf dem Weg verteilt sind.
Angkor Wat, erbaut um 1150 von König Suryavarman II., ist eine monumentale hindu-buddhistische Tempelanlage in der Nähe von Siem Reap. Er umfasst rund 160 ha und ist berühmt für seine fünftürmige Silhouette, den riesigen Wassergraben und die komplizierten Flachreliefs mit Göttern und epischen Geschichten
Das Südtor von Angkor Thom (Ende 12.–Anfang 13. Jh.) ist der am besten erhaltene Eingang zur ummauerten Stadt. Flankiert von Devas und Asuras, die Naga-Balustraden halten, verfügt es über 23 m hohe Türme mit ruhigen Gesichtern im Bayon-Stil geschnitzt
Bayon, der von Jayavarman VII. (Ende 12.–Anfang 13. Jh.) erbaute Staatstempel von Angkor Thom, ist berühmt für seine ~37 Steintürme, die jeweils mit immensen, ruhigen Gesichtern geschmückt sind. Seine Galerien randen mit Flachreliefs, die Mythos, Geschichte und Khmer-Alltag darstellen

Ta Prohm (spätes 12. Jh., von Jayavarman VII.) ist ein dschungelbekleideter buddhistischer Tempel in der Nähe von Angkor Thom, berühmt für seine massiven Bäume und Wurzeln, die mit moosigen Ruinen verschlungen sind. Weitgehend unrestauriert, erinnert es an eine „uralte, überwucherte“ Atmosphäre und ist in Tomb Raider zu sehen

Treten Sie ein in die pulsierende Seele von Siem Reap auf dem Alten Markt (Phsar Chas), wo der Charme Kambodschas in einer farbenfrohen, chaotischen und faszinierenden Atmosphäre lebendig wird. Eingebettet in der Nähe des Flussufers und nur wenige Minuten von der berühmten Pub Street entfernt, ist dieser historische Markt ein Muss für alle, die das echte Kambodscha erleben möchten.

I had a fantastic experience visiting Angkor Wat with my guide, Mr. T. He was incredibly knowledgeable, punctual, patient, and made the entire day feel relaxed and well organized. The itinerary was excellent and allowed us to see so much without ever feeling rushed. I really appreciated that Mr. T let me spend as much time as I wanted at each location and never made me feel like we had to hurry to the next stop. He also knew all the best photo spots and angles, which made for some amazing pictures! Breakfast was very good as well, and overall everything was thoughtfully planned from start to finish. Mr. T’s knowledge of the temples and their history added so much to the experience. I would absolutely recommend this tour and Mr. T to anyone visiting Angkor Wat with a short amount of time!

What a fabulous way to visit Angkor Wat. Yes it is a long drive but totally worth the effort. My driver was great with a seamless pickup and drop off and stopped along the way when requested. My guide at Angkor Wat, Mr T was very knowledgeable and also a great photographer. For those travellers based in Phonm Penh I would highly recommend doing this tour.

Kim the tour guide absolutely phenomenal. I learned so much about the temples, history, religion and culture. Kim was also incredibly informative and patient and helpful. he always asked and made sure if I was okay and if I needed water.
