Der beste Weg, um dieses malerische Gewässer zu genießen, ist es, vom Kraterrand eines der Hotels aus in der Hand zu trinken. Die Aussicht ist sensationell. Laut lokaler Überlieferung beherbergt dieser zweittiefste See in Äthiopien einen schlafenden Teufel. Von Zeit zu Zeit töten seine bösen Gase die Fische und lassen sie an die Oberfläche schaukeln, um von entzückten Wasservögeln aufgegriffen zu werden.
Der Hora-See liegt nördlich des Stadtzentrums und ist der wildeste der Bishoftu-Seen. Entlang seiner üppig bewachsenen Hänge bietet er eine hervorragende Vogelwelt. Es gibt einen Fußweg um den See, aber gehen Sie niemals alleine, da Diebstahl ein echtes Problem ist. Leider gibt es keinen zuverlässigen lokalen Führer, der in der Region empfohlen werden kann.
Der Babogaya-See (früher Bishoftu Guda genannt) ist der Standort der meisten High-End-Resorts in Bishoftu. Mit seiner wunderschönen Kulisse des Vulkans Mt Yerer ist dieser kreisförmige See landschaftlich reizvoll. Es wird eine Bootsfahrt auf diesem See geben

This was a disastrous day tour not because of the guide or the driver but of the road construction and being able to acces to one of the lakes also because of this. Also the fishing boat that was designed for the road was terrible and unsafe with its situation. Add to this the place I was supposed to have lunch in it had a local festival and none accessible to see the lake . All in all it was very tiresome day and I asked the guide to return me to the hotel as it was horrible with the road constructions. Something strange happened is that the tour company boss told the guide to get me to his office before the excursion start but I refused as I told the guide either you star the tour or take me back to my hotel.
Great guided tour Biruk and driver Geta. Good people. We enjoyed our lake tours and local coffee and boating at the lake.

It was a very chilled day, the views and places were prettier than the pictures. The guides were also very friendly!! Loved the day tour and recomend 100%.
The beauty of the craters! was stunning It's a good trip, but it had several butts. Only one boat ride which was disturbed with constant talking from the three staff members. Could not really enjoy the serenity of the lake. The drive was lovely, in a brand new car! The driver joined us for lunch, which I thought was odd. But it was a good trip a little expensive for one boat ride, I thought. But where is perfection in this world. All things work together for the good. Some strange characters came out of the woods at the last lake. One was staring pretty hard, came toward me and I had to think fast to get away from him, as I did not know what was going to happen. Tour guide did not see this. So you might want to lock your belongings in the car.
Very pleasant day away from the hustle and bustle of Addis and only a short drive. I only visited 2 lakes (was advertised as 3) but the 2 were very nice. The boat trip was very pleasant and charming. I was then back on the mini bus to the lunch stop which was overlooking the 2nd lake. The lunch was fantastic and was a sharing platter with injerra and was great to share this experience with locals. The next stop was the traditional coffee tasting and then back to Addis. Would have like some free time and a walk round the lakes as they were Beautiful. Pleasant day but could be a little longer
The best travel in Addis Ababa. I had a special days with them. My guide Belete is very attentive and cordial. I recommend a lot.
The lakes are nice and worth the trip, which was pleasant and without any delays or problems. The tourist guide was nice, however I encourage him to be more sharing with the group about surrounding information etc
My father and I had a great time travelling with Hallie to Debre Zeit. It is the perfect one day trip if you are looking to get away from the city. I highly recommend this tour.
