Szentendre ist eine historische Stadt mit Kopfsteinpflasterstraßen, barocker Architektur und einer lebendigen Kunstszene. Jahrhundert von verschiedenen Völkern besiedelt, wurde es im 17. Jahrhundert zu einem wichtigen Zentrum für serbische Flüchtlinge, die ein unverwechselbares orthodoxes Kulturerbe hinterließen. Heute ist es mit seinen Museen, Galerien und der Donaupromenade ein beliebtes Ziel für Besucher, die sich für Kultur und Geschichte interessieren.
Schloss Visegrád in Ungarn ist ein Traum für Geschichtsliebhaber/Naturliebhaber. Dieser Stopp kombiniert eine beeindruckende Zitadelle aus dem 13. Jahrhundert mit atemberaubendem Donaublick und ist eine großartige Gelegenheit, Ungarns königliche Vergangenheit zu erkunden und erstaunliche Fotos vom Donaubogen zu machen. Überragt von Esztergom, Ungarn, ist die Basilika von Esztergom ein Blickfang. Es wurde an der Stelle früherer Kirchen aus der Zeit von König Stephan I. erbaut und ist Sitz der katholischen Kirche in Ungarn und bietet atemberaubende Ausblicke und eine tiefe Verbindung zur ungarischen Geschichte. Burg Esztergom, neben der Basilika, war von der Herrschaft des Heiligen Stephan bis Mitte des 13. Jahrhunderts die königliche Residenz und das politische und religiöse Zentrum Ungarns.
Von Esztergom aus werden wir kurz in die Slowakei überqueren, um einen Postkarten-perfekten Blick auf die Basilika und die Altstadt der Stadt zu haben.
Für Interessierte zeigt das Marzipanmuseum von Szentendre die Kunstfertigkeit dieses süßen Handwerks mit lebensgroßen Skulpturen von Lady Diana, Michael Jackson und vielen anderen Figuren aus Geschichte, Cartoons und Natur. Beobachten Sie Konditormeister bei der Arbeit, wie sie Süßigkeiten zu essbarer Kunst formen, was den Besuch sowohl lustig als auch lehrreich - und natürlich schmackhaft macht.
Visegrad hat ein verstecktes Juwel: das Biosphärenreservat Pilis, ein Nationalpark innerhalb des Nationalparks. Es ist eine malerische Region, die durch ihre einzigartige Vegetation, mäandernde Bäche, kaskadierende Wasserfälle und ruhige Seen voller Forellen gekennzeichnet ist. Sie können das einzigartige Erlebnis genießen, frisch zubereitete Forellen, direkt aus diesen Seen gefangen, oder Wild aus den umliegenden Wäldern in einem gemütlichen Waldrestaurant unter Bäumen zu probieren (das Restaurant ist dienstags und mittwochs geschlossen, aber es gibt viele andere Mittagsoptionen in der Nähe).

We booked our Danube bend day trip from Budapest with Tamas during the historical heat wave, with temperatures over 100 degrees F. Despite the heat, tamas picked us up from our hotel and gave us a wonderful day trip, with a slower pace. He was very patient with my 3 yr old toddler (and even bought a new car seat to accommodate her age and size) and grandparents we were traveling with. At the end of the day, my daughter was commenting how nice and kind he was. He provided us with great local snacks and drinks all day (kept ice cold in his fridge cooler). He always made sure to start the car ac ahead of time to keep us comfortable. He explained so much Hungarian history because we were interested and toured us around the sites so we could do the highlights efficiently. We got to see so much in a day and he never made us feel rushed at all. We loved his story telling and his kindness. The price seemed steep but in the end I’m glad we felt we got our money’s worth even during the heat wave.

Tamas, our guide was very kind he brought snacks and beverages we never got hungry. He even allowed us to take photos in a sunflower field which is not part of the tour😅The tour went smoothly and we covered every key point in the tour. Tamas was like my history teacher, important eras in Europe history from Atilla Hun to the Romans, kings and queens, betrayals, buried treasures, Dracula and whatnot were discussed Tamas was talking the whole day!😅 This is a “must do” when in Budapest, seeing the scenic Danube and walking thru it’s beautiful and historic streets and old town squares.

Tamas was our tour guide. He is very knowledgeable about the country’s history and told us a lot during the tour. He was very friendly and offered us choices during the tour according to our interest and time schedule.
