With our very rudimentary knowledge of Chinese culture and history, this tour was one that will resonate for years to come. Linda is an exceptional tour guide (with experience in Europe too) whose enthusiasm and passion for the sites we visited was really impressive. That she was so adeptly able to tailor her commentary to our personal interests was much appreciated. In spite of the rain and dense crowds she ensured we were able to see everything and gain a deeper understanding of the sites than could possibly have been captured in any other context. We were also thrilled to have a meal with local delicacies!
Nice garden with lots of variety but the beauty of the place is spoiled by the attendance. Week ens is absolutely to be avoided
Hi Bruno_K, Thank you for sharing your experience visiting the Humble Administrator's Garden. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the beautiful scenery and diverse views of this classic garden. We totally understand that crowds can affect the visiting experience, especially on weekends. Your reminder is really helpful for other travelers. We hope you still had a pleasant time in Suzhou, and we look forward to assisting you with more enjoyable trips in China in the future! With warmest regards,
Grounds were impeccable and beautiful however it was too crowded to enjoy. It felt like Disneyland during spring break. It was absolutely overwhelming.
Dear Rusha_A, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience with us. We’re delighted to hear that you appreciated the stunning and well‑preserved grounds of the Humble Administrator’s Garden, one of China’s most famous classical gardens. We understand your feeling about the large crowds, which can indeed take away from the peaceful experience, especially during busy periods. We hope our convenient ticket booking service still made your visit smoother and more enjoyable overall. We look forward to welcoming you back to explore more of China’s beautiful heritage sites soon. Best regards,
Ancient and magical place but super crowded only with Chinese tourists .. but the visit is worth because it is an ancient... mystical garden
Dear Vacation18879390348, Thank you for sharing your experience at the Humble Administrator's Garden! We're glad to hear you found this ancient garden magical and worth visiting despite the crowds. As one of China's most famous classical gardens dating back to the Ming Dynasty, it does attract many visitors. We appreciate your understanding of its cultural value and are happy we could assist with your ticket booking. Should you wish to visit other less crowded classical gardens in Suzhou in the future, we'd be delighted to recommend some hidden gems! Best regards,
We had tickets for 8:30am. It was 90 degrees already and also extremely crowded. Know before you go that this is the most visited garden in China and many thousands of people visit it every day. There are places where one gets the sense of calm the garden must have inspired but the majority of the experience is shuffling in a crowded line of people. The best memory from the visit was the use of ‘borrowed’ architecture and landscape though the use of mirrors in the buildings and the design focus on a temple outside the garden!
Dear Annraulston, Thank you for sharing your detailed experience at the Humble Administrator's Garden! We understand the crowds and heat can be challenging, we're glad you were able to appreciate the garden's architectural ingenuity, especially the "borrowed scenery" design with mirrored elements and the temple integration. That blend of landscape and architecture is truly a highlight of Suzhou's classical gardens! We're grateful you trusted us with your ticket booking. Should you need any assistance in the future, please reach out to us. Warm regards,
