We had such a great experience! We learned a lot and we had a great time. Everything was so well planned and the treats were awesome. Totally recommend this class!
Yayo was a delightful and very patient instructor. She clearly enjoys teaching. The food was very fresh and delicious.
The Sushi Cooking Class with Yayo was a highlight of our trip to Japan. It was extremely intimate, the food quality was impeccable, and Yayo was a gracious, generous, and warm host and teacher. The work stations were thoughtfully set-up and the entire evening was seamless. Aside from sushi, we also prepared miso soup, Japanese omelets, matcha tea, and taiyaki. Yayo taught us about each of these dishes and provided clear instruction that was easy to follow. This sushi was some of the best that we had during our entire time in Japan; the fish melted in your mouth. We highly recommend this class to all visitors in Osaka.
This was the best dinner we had (because we made it ourselves) and one of our favorite experiences while traveling through Japan. Our host made us feel welcomed and appreciated for taking her cooking class. All her ingredients were homemade (by Mom) and purchased fresh from the fish market that morning. We were joined by another NYC family, who had experience in making sushi, so it made for great conversation. We learned so much preparing a traditional Japanese sushi dinner. I definitely recommend Cooking Class YAYO.
We had so much fun with Yayo during the sushi making course. She is incredibly kind and nice and an excellent teacher! We would absolutely recommend this course to anyone visiting Osaka.
This ended up being a private lesson, very personal experience. We learned about traditional ways and how to create delicious food! Our teacher was super knowledgeable and answered all questions. I would definitely do a different class with her again.
In a country full of phenomenal things to do, amazing experiences, and delightful outings, this was easily one of the best. Yayo is such a gracious host and an excellent teacher. We learned to make a traditional Japanese omelette, miso soup, a wonderful dessert filled with red bean paste, and sushi - the results were fantastic! I definitely recommend that you should enjoy sushi - as long as you meet that threshold, you will have one of the best experiences in all of Japan. I will be taking what I learned home with me and will add all of these foods to my repertoire. I offer the highest possible praise and recommendation, this is a must-do experience.
Yayo is a wonderful Sushi teacher. We had a fun, informative and delicious experience. Highly recommended. We laughed & we learned “hands on”. One of the top 3 best parts of our 11 days in Japan! Thank you.
It's a small class in what feels like a home. She is really nice and you learn a lot while having a great experience.
The hostess was very knowledgeable and incredibly kind! I didn't feel like there was a language barrier at all because her English was excellent. She was very encouraging and patient with me as well. She also shows you how to make each item before you try to make it which was greatly appreciated because I'm more of a visual learner. I feel like she made me a master sushi chef in the span of 2.5 hours, and I am confident that I can make everything that I made in the class at home. The food and sake was also fantastic!
