Super Buggys Tour mit Abholung

Great excursion! Booked it for me and a friend and ended up being just us two so we had a lot more time to explore and the excursion was tailored to us and our preferences. We were picked up and dropped off at our resort without any complications and in nice clean, well kept vehicles. Would definitely recommend and do again! Time from hotel to excursion snd back was about 3.5 hours! Staff was very kind, patient and accommodating.

Anthony set everything up for me for this excursion. They picked me up on a four wheeler since I was doing a solo trip. They took me to where the buggies were. Samalee and Chino were great. They showed me around and quickly got me set up to have some fun. It was amazing. We rode through a part of the Pueblo. Stopped at Los Mangos to taste some fresh fruit, coffee and chocolate. Got some souvenirs and we got back on the road. We went through a bunch of small river puddles and the cold water felt nice in that hot sun. Then we went to the beach to get some food and swim. Overall amazing experience!

We arrived Puerto Plata on our ship and met our tour guide at the end of the pier. He took us to our transport and it took us about 30 minutes to get to the venue. He warned us we would get very dirty and took us to our buggies. We boarded our buggy and put on our helmets and strapped ourselves in. The dirt track was wet with lots of big puddles. We did have to wait for some slow drivers which spoilt it a little. But we did go at a good speed. We stopped for a small cup of coffee and a chance to buy some local souvenirs. We then drove further to the beach where we could swim if we wanted. We then rode back it started to rain which just made it more fun. We did get quite muddy but there is a place to get the worst off before heading back to our ship. I have read some reviews that have complained about the buggies condition and the venue. Yes they are a little rough but we are on an island in the Caribbean. These guys are just trying to make a living with what they have. They were friendly and polite. We had an amazing time and would do it again. Definitely recommend

Disappointing . It lasted 2 hours not 3. Drove through public streets. Made us wait for an hour before heading out. Would have done but for less expensive.

The driving and the tour guides were very courteous. We drove all back roads the we went to the beach. At the end we had a mama Juana shot and took us back in a taxi.

Skip this attraction or excursion. What you read is true. The buggies are not well maintained. Harnesses didn’t work. They just tie the sides together. The buggies run through town which is really run down. Gives you a flavor of how poor this country is. The pre speech he literally says ‘you will be driving through muddy cow poop so I recommend you buy a bandana and we actually have them for sale for five American dollars. The drive is literally on the side of a busy highway in mud puddles of dissolved mud and poop. I highly recommend the bandana. Then the beach. The ‘bathroom’ is the bottom part of a toilet in a room with a hammock. Nothing to flush because there is no water and no hand sanitizer. Yes a hole in the ground. Bring wipes and toilet paper. The vendors attack you on the beach. They are not licensed. In Sosúa and Cabarete they are licensed and have a number in case you need to turn them in. The beer and a pineapple filled with something is overpriced unless you know to pretend you know Spanish and give them pesos. At the end of the tour AFTER you head back against traffic on a major road (ironically the one on the other side of the ditch you went through the mud puddles) you then go across a rock on the river and they snap some pictures for you to buy. Very disappointed. There is a place apparently way different than this tour where you do at least go in a field and a beach and dunes. This is not the one. I offer that the staff however are super friendly.

We had a blast! Lucky that it rained before our ride, the mud puddles splashed! Mud and dirt in places that never saw sunshine!

We had so much fun!!! My favorite excursions of all time. Plan to get muddy- we underestimated that but it was so worth it.

Good - pick up was on time. Driver was good and fun. Beach we ended up at was beautiful and the beer was nice and cold! Now for the bad. Just so you all know, I’m generally positive about my reviews. I’ve been on excursions like this in Mexico and numerous other countries. Overall, I guess I was just sad. Sad for the people in the bareo (neighborhood ) who have to listen to our noisy buggies go by their homes at least 4 times a day. Hopefully they’re compensated in some way. Sad to see all the garbage everywhere. I realize this is a 3rd world country, but folks (including us tourists) need to be more mindful of the plastic garbage we contribute to their countryside. Disappointed with the buggy - steering was not working properly. Paid US$5 for bandanas - we’d already overpaid for the buggy - couldn’t they throw in a .50 cent bandana? Seat belts were jimmy-rigged together. And honestly, the guides were just there to get us there and back - no fun interaction with them. Just wanted us to rush throw the puddles - which btw - if you have a queasy stomach- are difficult to handle. Smells were anywhere from dead animals to cow manure - which I’m pretty sure we were driving through. Then a good 1/2 hour wait for our ride back. I wish these fellows had a good place to ride up in the hills, away from traffic/households, where it’s clean and streams are fresh. Sorry- I hate to write such a bad review, but I’m afraid this one was a huge disappointment

The buggy kept turning left by itself as they are destroyed, rusty and full of holes. It turned off two times during the tour. The ride was boring and slow. You drive in town for a lot of the time and when you finaly get to a part of the road where is fun you stop at a beach for 45 minutes and wait. We regret doing this tour, the only fun thing was making 2 splashes in the water. I recommend choosing a diferent company with not destroyed buggys (there are a lot of others that have good and safe equipment.
