Unsere erste Sehenswürdigkeit des Tages ist ein Besuch in einer Pfalz von 'Highland Coos'. Halten Sie an, um diese sanften Tiere zu bewundern und Fotos von ihrem unverwechselbaren Aussehen und ihrer freundlichen Natur aufzunehmen. Mit Ihrer Kamera voller unvergesslicher Aufnahmen ist unser nächster Halt Stirling Castle. Spazieren Sie durch die Prunksäle, spazieren Sie entlang alter Stadtmauern und erfahren Sie mehr über legendäre Figuren wie William Wallace und Robert the Bruce. Nachdem wir Stirlings reiche Vergangenheit erkundet haben, machen wir uns auf den Weg nach Falkirk, wo moderne Ingenieurswunder warten. Zuerst besuchen Sie das Falkirk Wheel, eine atemberaubende Leistung der Technik, die Boote zwischen zwei Kanalsystemen mit einer sanften Rotation hebt. Die Kelpies sind 2 ikonische Pferdeskulpturen des Glasgower Bildhauers Andy Scott. Mit einer Höhe von 30 Metern sind sie die höchsten Pferdestatuen der Welt, inspiriert vom Kulturerbe der schottischen Kelpies (Wasserfeen) sowie den Zugpferden von Clydesdale, die in den lokalen Kohlebergwerken verwendet werden.
Das Falkirk Wheel ist der weltweit einzige drehbare Bootslift, der den Forth & Clyde Canal mit dem Union Canal verbindet. Dank einer einzigartigen Fusion aus Kunst und Technik hebt das Falkirk Wheel Boote in nur wenigen Minuten 35 Meter in die Luft und verbraucht dabei nur die gleiche Leistung wie acht Kessel. Hinweis : Wir haben keine Zeit für die Radtour auf dieser Tour.
Mit über 1000 Jahren Geschichte ist Stirling Castle eine der wichtigsten historischen Stätten Schottlands und seine Vergangenheit zeigt einige der berühmtesten Persönlichkeiten Schottlands, wie William Wallace, Robert the Bruce, Mary Queen of Scots und Bonnie Prince Charlie. Dieses unglaubliche Schloss war einst die bevorzugte Residenz der Stewart-Könige und -Königinnen. Nach umfangreicher Restaurierung bietet das Schloss ein einzigartiges Erlebnis mit Charakteren in alter Tracht, als Leibwächter, Hofbeamte und Bedienstete, die Ihnen Informationen über einige der Haupträume, die Sie besuchen werden, erzählen und das 16. Jahrhundert lebendig machen! Es gibt auch regelmäßig kostenlose Führungen durch die sachkundigen Schlossführer, die regelmäßig vom Tor abfahren.
Sehen Sie unsere weltberühmten Highland Cows! Die Pollok Fold (Herde) wurden vor fast 200 Jahren vom Hochland Schottlands heruntergeholt, um den Boden im Pollok Country Park zu beweiden. Die Herde hat 30 Zuchtweibchen und 3 erwachsene Bullen, die hauptsächlich von März bis Juni kalben. Aufgrund ihres doppelten Haarmantels verbringen sie das ganze Jahr draußen und können immer auf den Feldern des Pollok Parks gesichtet werden.

Phil is a fantastic guide who did an amazing job showing us around! We got the feed the highland cows and take pictures. Then we headed up to Stirling castle where he gave us plenty of time to explore. Next we got to see the Falkirk wheel, where we got to see it in action. Lastly we made our way to the Kelpie statues, which were marvelous. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see these amazing sights.

This was a day that will be a core memory for all six of us. Paul was incredibly professional and made the experience even more epic than we expected. From feeding the cows to seeing Stirling Castle and the Kelpies, we were honestly blown away. Paul shared great context along the way and kept the group engaged throughout the tour. He was attentive to everyone’s needs, made sure we were all enjoying ourselves, and maintained a smooth, comfortable pace. Most importantly, Paul ensured we arrived back at our cruise port on time. We would highly recommend this tour and especially Paul to anyone visiting the area.

We had a private tour for six with Paul and he helped make our day in Glasgow so enjoyable! Petting and feeding the highland cows, visiting Sterling Castle and a quick stop at the Kelpies made for an amazing day in Scotland! Paul was friendly, knowledgeable and extremely accommodating. He even helped arrange a driver for us in a future port of call. We will certainly call on him again next time we visit! Highly recommend!

Had an awesome time on this tour seeing the Kelpies, the Falkirk Wheel, and other sites around Glasgow. The Hiland Coos were definitely a highlight for my daughter, who declared she wanted one to take home. Our guide, Simon, was great and made sure we had enough time at each stop. I would highly recommend him and this tour!

Enjoyed a private tour with Darryl visiting the Falkirk wheel, helix, Stirling castle and the highland cows. We started the tour one hour early and were able to take our time and enjoy the sites. Darryl supplied water and Scottish treats. He also surprised the group with extra beverages and supplied food for the coos! LOL! At times it was hard to hear him. Enjoyed has authentic accent. Would recommend this private tour!
