Imjingak ist ein Vereinigungs- und Sicherheitstourkomplex, der aus dem Imjingak-Pavillon, dem Nordkorea-Zentrum, dem Vereinigungspark und mehreren Denkmälern und Gedenkstätten besteht. Der Pyeonghwa Nuri Park beherbergt viele Veranstaltungen, Aufführungen und Ausstellungen, um Frieden und Wiedervereinigung zu fördern. Die beliebtesten Attraktionen innerhalb des Parks sind Hill of Music, ein großer Grashang, und Pinwheel Park mit über 3.000 bunten Pinwheels, die sich frei im Wind drehen.

Der 3. Tunnel ist der dritte seiner Art, der von Nordkorea für die Invasion Südkoreas gebaut wurde. Er wurde 1978 entdeckt. Von den vier Tunneln, die sich bisher befinden, liegt er Seoul am nächsten (ca. 52 km). Er hat eine Gesamtlänge von 1,6 km und eine Breite von 2 m. Schätzungen zufolge können sich stündlich fast 30.000 Mitarbeiter durch den Tunnel bewegen. Besucher des 3. Tunnels müssen die Tour im Voraus reservieren. Die Tour beginnt am Imjingak-Pavillon. Alle Besucher müssen ihren Ausweis, wie Reisepässe oder Alien Registration Card (ARC) mitbringen.
Dora Observatory ist das nächstgelegene DMZ-Observatorium zu Panmunjeom. Vom Dora-Observatorium aus kann man nicht nur das Panmunjeom sehen, sondern auch das Dorf Daeseong-dong innerhalb der DMZ, Berge und Ackerland auf der nordkoreanischen Seite sowie die Stadt Gaeseong, eine nordkoreanische Stadt und die historische Hauptstadt Goryeo (918-1392). Einzelbesuche sind nicht gestattet. Das Observatorium ist nur über die DMZ Peace Tour zugänglich, die nach vorheriger Reservierung vom Imjingak Pavilion aus startet. Alle Besucher müssen ihren Ausweis, wie Reisepässe oder Alien Registration Card (ARC) mitbringen.

We had a thoroughly successful, intensive tour from about 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM. First, we went by minibus to the first stops before joining a larger group in a tour bus for the DMZ. Always accompanied by our guide who spoke English very well. After that, we continued our program relaxed in our small group (there were five of us) in the minibus. The stops were brief and precisely timed, and no time was wasted. Especially the Aegibong Park was an absolute highlight – since we were there in the afternoon, we could fully enjoy the tranquility away from the tourist crowds. The view of North Korea is significantly better here. A huge thank you goes to our guide Won: She was incredibly dedicated and answered all our questions in detail.
