This tour was wonderful Susan was very knowledgeable and a pleasure. She Jared the history of the Hawaiian monarchy and how Hawaii became a state in a factual manner. I would highly recommend you book directly with the operator Hawai’i Free Tours because the tour model is that the tour is free and you tip the tour guide. If you book directly with Hawaii Free Tours your entire tip can go to the tour guide. Also, this tour would be great to do before the Iolani Palace tour. I highly recommend this tour. We visited Hawaii for seven days and we went on the tour on the 5th day which was perfect for us. Also, Susan suggested that we may be able to walk up and get that cleats to the Iolani Palace tour even though on-line it said it was sold out and she was correct, so we were able to do the audio tour of Iolani Palace
Susan was a very knowledgeable and informative guide about the history of Hawaii and brought it to life.
Susan was a great tour guide. She taught us about a bit of the history of Hawaii, and the surroundings of Iolani Palace and Hawaiian Mission Houses. The tour took around 1 hour and we greatly appreciated it.
We had an excellent time on our tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and informative. I would highly recommend!
Guide Susan was excellent with great information and an open, friendly approach.
Susan was great and super knowledgable about Hawaii's history. The tour was about an hour and such great value. So glad I started my vacation with this tour.
Susan was very pleasant and knowledgeable about Hawaiian history. Amazing insight about this wonderful culture.
We had a wonderful time with our guide, Susan! It was informative and entertaining. Susan is a great story teller! We thoroughly enjoyed our time and highly recommend this tour!
The tour was very informative and the tour guide was very interesting. She was very knowledgeable.
We were met promptly by our guide, Susan, who mic'd up and began sharing the history of the Kamehameha kings and the development of the Hawaiian system of governance before becoming a U.S. state. Another couple from the Yukon joined us shortly, and Susan recapped what she had already shared. After explaining the significance of Kamehameha's statue, Susan led us to other locations in the immediate area including the Territorial Government building, the first Christian church, the State Government building, Queen Liliuokalani's statue and Iolani Palace. At each stop along the way, Susan answered questions and supplied relevant and interesting information, which we greatly enjoyed. We would recommend this experience to anyone interested in getting an on-the-ground history lesson. This tour does not include visits inside any of the buildings which was acceptable to us. Kudos to Susan, our guide!
