Ihre Geister lauern jeden Tag in den Schatten, Gassen, Treppen und verfolgen THE STRAND! Die historischen Gebäude von THE STRAND aus dem 19. Jahrhundert sind zu Geisterheiligtümern geworden. Und die Geister in dir wollen dich unbedingt treffen. Begleiten Sie uns auf unserer 90-minütigen Wanderung und erkunden Sie die faszinierenden paranormalen Ereignisse auf dem Strand, der ursprünglichen Straße des Grauens. Wirbelstürme, Krieg, Feuer und Epidemien! Der Pirat Jean Lafitte verwandelte die Insel sogar in eine Diebesgrube. Galveston hat mehr Geister als jede andere Stadt in den USA. Wenn Sie in der Nacht gehen, schweben durchscheinende Figuren an den Fenstern. Plötzlich tauchen Schatten auf und Objekte bewegen sich von selbst, während wir uns näher kommen, um uns gegenseitig zu schützen. Wir wissen nie, was um die Ecke auf uns wartet. Vorsicht und Angst haben! Immerhin ist Galveston nichts anderes als „ein Friedhof mit einem Strand“.

Auf seiner Höhe befanden sich auf dem Weg zu den Bars, Kasinos und Bordellen von Galveston täglich über 40.000 Menschen. Ein Ingenieur namens William Watson unterhielt die vorbeiziehenden Menschenmengen, indem er auf dem Viehwächter der Motoren Handstände machte. Eines unglücklichen Tages schlüpfte er und wurde sofort enthauptet. Ein Derby-Hut saß immer noch sicher auf dem Kopf und sie fanden A MILE AWAY!
So viele Würdenträger, Soldaten, Politiker und sogar Präsidenten haben eingecheckt ... ABER EINIGE SIND NIE AUSGECHECKT. Auf den Treppenhäusern und in den Fluren ist ein Schluchzen zu hören. Ein Bürgerkriegssoldat marschiert vor allen Augen in der Lobby auf und ab. Ein kleiner Junge spielt im Hotel und soll der Geist eines Kindes sein, das vor dem Hotel überfahren wurde. Ein hilfreicher Geist wird sogar für Sie auspacken!
Charles F. Coghlan, ein berühmter britischer Schauspieler, segelte nach Galveston, um die Bühne des Grand Opera House zu zieren. Aber der arme Charles starb, bevor der Vorhang aufging. Was tun mit diesem angesehenen Besucherkörper? Während sie auf die Antwort warteten, zerstörte DER GROSSE STURM die Insel und trug Charles Sarg zur See. Es schwebte von Galveston zum Prince Albert Sound, bevor es schließlich landete ... Ungefähr eine Meile von dort entfernt, wo Charles in den Ruhestand ging!

Not sure if I believe all the stories told, but we had a great tour guide (Thomas). The tour was also not too taxing for older folks; plenty of stops where you could take a seat for a few minutes.

Thomas was an excellent guide. His presentation was engaging with so much detail about Galveston’s history and development as a city in the 1800’s. Their port was a critical part of their businesses and for a while Galveston was the capital of Texas. But when the 1900 storm hit Galveston, it devastated the city and changed its future. The worst natural disaster ever in the U.S. Thomas told us about the long recovery of Galveston and that ghosts are part of their city. One fascinating fact after another throughout the tour! I highly recommend this tour.

Lots of history, thomas was very knowledgeable. Interesting ghost stories. He even took more time with us. He pointed out various buildings and definitely captured your attention.

Thomas led a great tour! He gave great bits of history while telling us stories of some of the more notable spirits all while being fun and telling jokes. The tour was a great way to get to know the island a little better on our first night.

Took my daughter and a group of her friends on this tour for her 18th birthday. Thomas was very informative and kept everyone interested and entertained throughout the tour, which is not an easy thing to do with teenagers. Even though we are locals we learned lots of things about the island we never knew. Would definitely recommend this tour. Thanks for a fun evening Thomas!
