Our guide Vlas was very friendly and informative and made sure that we had a good time. The experience is absolutely worth it, I would recommend this tour without any hesitation.
If i could i would give our guide Vlad 10 stars out of 10. This was exceptional tour. Everything was well organized. Vlad was like a wikipedia, knew all the details, you could have asked him anything on geography, history, politics, just briliant. The schedule for the tour is so well designed including the lunch break in authentic Soviet themed restaurant. What i want to highlight is that Vlad even went beyond the offering and got for the whole group Kvass ( local non alcoholic drink) and pickeled cucumbers at the central farmer's market. Definitely worth the money and highly recommended.
Traveling to Transnistria for the day is very safe. No guns on display anywhere, no military except for at the checkpoint. Also, the money you bring to exchange has to be in excellent condition or else it will not be accepted. No credit cards are accepted. So bring more cash than you think you need just in case. Our guide-Natalia-was very friendly and told us a lot about the history of the place. She took us to the market and had us taste local fruit ( yum!). Everything is so inexpensive there- but make no mistake- it’s subsidized. We also went to a nostalgia restaurant “ Back to the USSR” and everything was decorated just so, to bring back memories ( in case you spent any time behind the Iron Curtain). It was your typical Russian fare, freshly made and tasty. The fortress was interesting as well, although climbing on a very hot day , wasn’t the most pleasant thing. But it had a nice view from above. We had a fun group with people from all over the world and moved pretty quickly. There was a museum of torture there as well but I skipped it. The unnerving thing is that there are Lenin statues everywhere, as well as the hammer and sickle symbols, however they are just for show. The transnistrian society is not any kind of utopian society. We were told by our guide that it has no middle class at all- only very rich and very poor people. Well, that’s not what Lenin stood for. So those symbols have one role and one role only: to show that Transnistria is pro Russia and anti West. What did that get them? Go and see.
Vlad was a very nice and knowledgeable guy. We had a pleasant day and I regret not booking at least one night in Tiraspol. I can 100% recommend this tour.
departure from Chisinau with a new car and air conditioning. very interesting especially for those who love Soviet-style symbols and architecture. the guide Vlad was very knowledgeable and helpful, perfect organization
This tour to Transnistria with Natalia is absolutely magnificent — a truly unique experience that you will hardly find anywhere else in the world. Other companies will probably offer you the same tour or something similar, but none with the joy and passion that Natalia brings to it. From the moment we got on the minibus, we knew we were in good hands and that we were going to have a great day — and that is exactly what happened. Our first stop was an extra stop that was not even on the itinerary, at an old wooden church on the outskirts of Chisinau. Crossing the Transnistrian border was incredibly quick; we didn’t even have to get out of the minivan. Natalia was always there to explain every detail about each place we visited. We even went to a supermarket, not only to exchange money, but also to see the variety of products available in Transnistria and their prices. You could literally see the happiness on Natalia’s face as she showed us the little details of Tiraspol and Bender. She bought us grapes and pickles at the Green Market, and she was always attentive to make sure we were enjoying every moment of the trip. We had lunch at the Back In The USSR restaurant, where we tried traditional Moldovan food. Believe me, it was a very, very, very authentic and wonderful experience. Thanks to Natalia, I can honestly say that, out of the 121 countries I have visited, this tour is one of the best tours I have ever done. Do not hesitate for a single minute to visit Transnistria with this company. You will not regret it!
Our trip to Transnistria was an amazing experience from start to finish. It was fascinating to visit such a unique place with so much history and a completely different atmosphere. Everything was very well organized, and our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and happy to answer all of our questions. We were traveling with our 5-month-old son, and the entire trip was comfortable and stress-free. We always felt safe, welcomed, and well taken care of, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Moldova. It was truly one of the highlights of our trip, and we're so glad we had the opportunity to experience Transnistria with such a great guide!
Absolutely recommended !!! Marcel, our tour guide, led us through the day with lots of information, good English, and a few anecdotes.
I really like the tour. Group was super small just 3 people. Our guide Vlad was super friendly and open. He showed us more than was in plan and told many interesting stories. I highly recommend this trip.
Nice tour and a great tour guide. All the places we have seen in car. The lunch was excellent. Walking tour was also great.
