An easy 2 hour walking tour with a couple of stops for “bites” no Pasta as mentioned in the description. Our guide was so lovely. A true born and breed local that gave us some recommendations for places to eat. She was so very easy to talk. Was it worth the $176 AUD each??? Probably not. We did a tour in Florence and for the same price got so much more.
Really good experience. Visited places that you didn’t realise were there. Food was excellent and the guide was very nice
Our guide was so sweet, helpful, and knowledgeable of the local history. The food choices were fresh, local and unique. Absolutely delicious! Highly recommend booking this the day of arrival to help get to know the town
Tonino our guide was well presented, timely and spoke great English. He answered our questions about food and Italian life. He took us to several places around the old city. It was good to try our first Limoncello spritz, various traditional and delicious foodie bites, wine, cheeses and finally seafood at an ancient fishing village.
Our guide was great. Super cool guy. He was helpful in providing tips for us which we appreciated. Thank you.
We try to do a food tour in every city we go to. They’re usually good. This one was great. Flavia is just a darling. If you can at all request her I would highly recommend it. She made us a wonderful evening.
Really fun food tour. Lots of good food. We ended up down on the water sampling seafood. Beautiful scenery. Lots of walking but well worth it.
What a disappointment for our first experience in Sorrento. We got a WhatsApp message from the guide and hour before which was great, so we knew who we were looking for, as we met in a very busy square. We met a lovely American couple and that was us for the night. First stop was literally the bar next to us. Drinks and fried pizza bites, with nuts, crackers and olives. Standard fair. We then took a walk through the old town, the guide didn't really have a good knowledge of the history of the place, surprising given he was born there! We wavered through town to the other side of Sorrento and stopped at a non descipt deli. Surprisingly it was a delicious selection of cheese and cold cuts. A great starter. We then walked back through the old town and headed to the Grande Marina. We sat at the port edge looking at the lovely restaurants, thinking, this is a bit odd. They brought over Capo - fried anchovies and squid with lemon, served with water - and that was it. Then we headed back into the main town, (note, it's a steep climb back up - the guide was patient) for gelato, which though lovely in the heat, was the last thing we wanted. The guide told us, we could head to a little bar that served pizza, even he knew that it wasn't really dinner, more a grazing without the drinks! Tour quality was poor, little to no description of the town or area, it's food heritage and not really dinner as the tour description states. It's clear from the reviews it depends on the guide you get as to the experience you have.
We normally pay good attention to the reviews as they can be a way to understand strengths and weaknesses of what we try to deliver with passion and commitment. There is though some confusion in this comment and we are trying to figure it out. So, let’s recap: the guide introduced himself and reminded you of the tour (providing extra assistance), food-wise you were guaranteed everything that was listed in the tour description, you were guided through the whole city from side to side, you sat at the Historical Port edge facing a beautiful sunset, you were avoided the crowds of the busy restaurants (but being served food directly out of the restaurant you were looking at!), you had a patient guide helping with the uphill, but ... it all wasn’t right? You seem to complain about the bar at the first stop because too close to the meeting point and then the deli on the other side of Sorrento seems to be too far. You were expecting an historical tour of Sorrento, but you booked a food tour. You were served fried pizza bites, deep fried pizza dough, mozzarella, provolone, caciotta, bruschetta, olives, tomatoes, a full fish course of anchovies and calamari, limoncello spritz, wine, limoncello and other similar liquors, gelato and ... but it wasn’t a dinner! You were offered gelato at the end of the tour, but no, it wasn’t good, because it was the last thing YOU wanted (apparently referring to the “steep uphill” which would’ve been completed approximately 30 mins before the gelato). We are really confused. An honestly, a bit upset. A bunch of great reviews spoilt by someone who clearly likes to be unfair to people who work and do their best to offer a great tour. Also because if there really was a problem, it could’ve been faced directly with the guide who would’ve certainly stepped the extra mile to have a happy guest at the end of the evening Because being committed is something we guarantee regardless of reviews.
We were given all Info and tickets well in advance.we met flavia at the meeting point has planned.we were joined by 4 other people .flavia explained everything well and we had a history lesson as we walked in the streets.a fab experience we meet some fab people and enjoyed some beautiful food
We attended a walking food tour in Sorrento 10/4. Young guide was very nice but the overall tour was disappointing. Pizza bits and dough balls, cheese samples with prosciutto and gelato. The overall cost of $75 per person was not worth the price.
