Unsere Tour beginnt in Camí de la Escollera vor der Kathedrale von Palma gegen 09:15 Uhr. Palma wurde als römisches Lager auf den Überresten einer talaiotischen Siedlung gegründet. Die Stadt war während des Zerfalls des Weströmischen Reiches mehreren Vandalenüberfällen ausgesetzt, die dann vom Bizantinischen Reich zurückerobert, dann von den Mauren (die es Medina Mayurqa nannten) und im 13. Jahrhundert von James I. von Aragon kolonisiert wurden.
Soller ist ein wunderschönes Dorf, drei Kilometer vom Hafen entfernt an der Nordostküste Mallorcas gelegen und als Handels- und Kulturzentrum an der Serra de Tramontana bekannt. Es entspringt einem Tal, das von Bergen umgeben ist, die als "El Valle de Los Naranjos" (das Tal der Orangenbäume) bezeichnet werden. Der schöne, zentrale Platz, der der Haupttreffpunkt des Dorfes ist, ist von vielen kleinen, gepflasterten Straßen umgeben. Bei unserer Ankunft in Sóller, dem Handels- und Kulturzentrum der Sierra, werden wir vom Hauptplatz von Sóller begrüßt, der sich perfekt eignet, um auf einer Terrasse zu sitzen und die Kirche San Bartolomé und das Gebäude der Banco de Sóller zu beobachten.
Der Hafen von Sóller ist ein wunderschöner Naturhafen im Nordwesten der Insel und ein wichtiges Zentrum von touristischem Interesse. Ein kleiner Schatz, der in der Antike von Freibeutern begehrt wurde und uns eine unwiederholbare Landschaft bietet, in der sich der Geruch von Orangenblüten mit dem Aroma des Meeres vermischt. Der Hafen und die Stadt Sóller sind durch eine alte hölzerne Straßenbahn verbunden, die all ihre Ästhetik und originelle Dekoration bewahrt und die wir bei einem Spaziergang entlang der lebhaften Promenade des Hafens bewundern können.
Am 4. Oktober 1913 wurde die erste elektrische Straßenbahnlinie auf Mallorca eingeweiht, die zwischen Sóller und Puerto de Sóller verkehrte. Der Bau der Straßenbahn Sóller begann nach der Einweihung der Eisenbahnlinie Palma-Sóller. Das Projekt für diese Linie wurde von Pedro Garau entworfen und geleitet, und 4.868 Meter Gleis wurden verlegt. Die Eisenbrücke über den Torrent Major fällt auf. Zu Beginn hatte die Straßenbahn im Kraftwerk Sóller ein Kraftwerk, das von einem 65-PS-Explosionsmotor angetrieben wurde, der mit einem Siemens-Schuckert-Dynamo arbeitete und einen Gleichstrom von 600 Volt lieferte. Obwohl die Sóller-Straßenbahn für den Personenverkehr ausgelegt war, wurde sie auch für den Warentransport zum Hafen eingesetzt.

A must do day out when staying on Majorca. We caught the bus to Palma with a short walk to the train station from the bus station. The train is an open wooden one with beautiful scenery to look at on the journey to Soller. Stepping out of the station the tram stop is there to take you down to the port through the town. There are many cafes and restaurants near the station and of course down in the port which has a St Tropez feel about it. We booked the last train back at 19:30 but we struggled to find enough to do at the port once we had eaten so had a long wait which we passed the time drinking in one of the bars in the top town square opposite the church. All in all a great day out in the sunshine with a little bit of adventure.

Longish train ride to Soller, and we had to wait for quite awhile at the train station before boarding. Soller looks like a cute town, but we had 15 minutes there so really could only go to one shop and then had to head back. Tram ride to the port was fine, although a lot of us had to stand as there were no seats. Port is nice, and we got enough time there to walk around see things. Then we had to walk several blocks back to the bus to take us home. All in all, a lot of time in transit, and little time at the actual places.

I never leave bad reviews but this one was horrendous. Its sweltering hot out, we were a group of 6 with my 75 year old mother. First of all, they came 30 minutes earlier than planned and thankfully I was outside but they yelled at me when I tried to tell them they're early. They threatened to leave if I didn't get on within a minute so I scrambled everyone and thankfully we made it. After transferring to another bus in the Port (20 minutes later) bus #2 broke down which meant we stood outside in the sweltering heat for almost an hour. A tour that should have started at 930am ended up starting at 11am. Very disappointing, unorganized and not worth the money.

The actual tour did not match the description. Pick up was 45 min. late, time spent at each stop, Soller and Port Soller was a 15 or 20 min. rather than the advertised time of 45 min. or 1 hour. The "luxury bus" was anything but- no AC or adequate room. The guide, Carmen, was rude, impatient, and ill-informed. The entire tour was a huge waste of time and money. I suggest getting a taxi or a car and going independently. We received ZERO information about the area. It was simply awful.

Carmen was fabulous! She called the day before to confirm our meeting point. During the tour she spoke to us in 4 languages to ensure all guests received the information about the tram, train and surrounding logistics. She kept track of all passengers on a variety of tour packages.

Excellent trip only negative didn't get any tme in Pt Soller only 20 minutes pretty rushed and not enough time in Soller, was booked for a 09.30 hotel received message changing to another pick up point 10 minutes away at 08.30 spent 4 hours on the coach doing other passengers pickup, enjoyed the tour and experience Sophie and driver very good, no time for toilet breaks,returned after experience to join the coach and toilet was closed, but on a positive note well worth the experience.
