The sites were beautiful and the guide was great. However, I think it should be noted that the only way to see the giant sequoias is to walk a mile down a fairly steep trail and then to turn around and hike back up it. You only have a short amount of time to do this and it is definitely physically challenging. This was the first sightseeing stop on the tour and wiped my family out for pretty much the rest of the tour. I don’t think the tour should be billed as a giant sequoias tour being a feature as it might not be feasible for many people to do this trek. Perhaps if this portion was allotted more time, it might not be as stressful, but we only had a few minutes to see, basically, two sequoias before heading back up the incline. Not worth it IMO. The rest of the sightseeing and picture stops were well planned and great. Just be aware about the sequoias portion. It was tough and rushed even for my teens.
We had a wonderful experience on this Yosemite and Giant Sequoias tour. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, and it was a great way to visit Yosemite in one day from San Francisco. The giant sequoias were unforgettable, and we had enough time to enjoy the beautiful viewpoints and take photos. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and kept the trip well organized. The transportation was comfortable, and the entire day was smooth and enjoyable. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting San Francisco who wants to experience the beauty of Yosemite without the stress of driving.
This tour was simply wonderful—so well-coordinated, informative and fun. We had our two teenagers with us, and the tour kept them entertained, which is no small feat. There are really interesting videos about the park and rock climbing on the way up and back, and our kids really enjoyed those. Our tour guide, Steven, was phenomenal from start to finish. He checked in with us the night before and confirmed where he would pick us up the next morning. He picked us up at a nearby hotel at 5:20 a.m. and after collecting the rest of the tour participants (the bus held 14), we set out bright and early. On the way to Yosemite, we stopped at a grocery store to pick up snacks and lunches. Lunch is offered at Yosemite, and there’s a pretty generous allotment of time around midday for that, but the food onsite is very expensive. We appreciated the thought that went into planning out little details that made the day more comfortable and pleasant for us. The road up and back has a lot of twists and switchbacks, and before we started the climb, Steven even offered everyone Dramamine if they needed it. He also handed out bottles of water throughout the day. The entire operation was just very smooth and well-planned. We had a wonderful time, rolling in and out of every stop on time and hitting all of the high notes in one day. We also got a stop to see the giant sequoias on the way back. Steven also made a point of taking group photos of everyone throughout the day, and if you’ve ever traveled as a family, you know how hard it is to get everyone in the shot. We so appreciated that! One final thing….if you’re wondering about the return time like we were prior to the trip, if all goes well, the bus returns to San Francisco between 7:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. So, it’s a long, jam-packed day, but it’s well worth it!
Amazing day spend with family, our guide Derek was very knowledgeable, took us to beautiful spots where he helped us get great photos
It was a breathtaking trip!!! Trevor wasn't just a knowledgeable tour guide, but a really funny person as well! We got to see the highlights of Yosemite and got to roam around for two hours, which was more than enough. If you're feeling adventurous, I would recommend hiking Yosemite Falls during that time. Overall, it was great and it felt like time flew by! Would highly recommend it to anyone having 1 day for it.
While it was long and tiring it was also beautiful. We would do it again and enjoyed it very much. Go and enjoy!
Brian was energetic, hospitable, friendly, entertaining and knowledgeable. He shared photos, maps, provided history, brought telescopes to see climbers, took group pictures, and was an excellent driver. We enjoyed the front door service to and from our hotel and into and throughout Yosemite. It was a fantastic experience and an amazing way to end our family vacation.
Derek our guide was fantastic, would 100% recommend him as his knowledge of the park and great photo spots made for a very enjoyable day. Well worth it and the scenery breathtaking
This was an excellent tour and that was all down to our guide Trevor! Such a friendly, personable and knowledgeable guide. Brought the Yosemite to life with his stories and experiences. Made the long hours fly by!
Small group tours are always awesome. The whole group was great. The coordinator was awesome in giving us options that best suited us. Only one thing I wanted to mention: I wish they had picked us up at our hotel on the South SFO side, as parking during downtime is very challenging, especially given the tour's timing. Hope they understand our problem, those visiting SFO... they have hardly any knowledge of parking spaces in downtown.
