Sloth’s Territory ist ein privates Reservat in El Tanque, weniger als 10 Minuten von der Innenstadt von La Fortuna (Vulkan Arenal) entfernt. Für unsere Nachtwanderung ab 18:00 Uhr ist es die beste Zeit, nach Tieren mit nachtaktivem Verhalten zu suchen. Während dieser Wanderung haben Sie die Möglichkeit, verschiedene Arten von Fröschen, Kinkajous, Schlangen, Spinnen, Fledermäusen und schließlich: Zwei- und Dreifingerfaultiere zu sehen (dies steht jedoch nicht im Mittelpunkt dieser speziellen Wanderung). Während die Nacht beginnt und der Himmel voller Sterne ist, werden Sie von unserem gut ausgebildeten Guide beschützt, während Sie die Wanderung durch unser Anwesen fortsetzen. Der Weg ist für alle Altersgruppen zugänglich, so dass dies eine Aktivität ist, die die ganze Familie genießen kann. Die Dauer dieser Aktivität beträgt 1 ½ bis 2 Stunden. Die Tour beinhaltet einen ausgebildeten Guide während der gesamten Wanderung mit professioneller Ausrüstung, eine Taschenlampe für jeden Teilnehmer und endet mit einer Pause mit frischen Früchten der Saison. This was a solid wildlife tour! Our guide was knowledgable and pointed out lots of different wildlife in the two hours or so that we were with him. He was particularly adept at positioning phone cameras at the eyepiece of his scope so that we could capture animals up close, so we got some great shots of macaws, monkeys, and even a baby sloth! Since this tour happens in Sloth's Territory, they have trackers who go out in the morning and verify that the sloths are present, so it's very, very likely (almost guaranteed) that you will see sloths.
Did not really see any sloths. The guide found a couple high up in trees. Saw more other animals and lizards on the ground. It intermittently was pouring rain during our visit so maybe why the sloths were difficult to find. Guide claimed that there may be about 15 sloths in an area that is probably about two or 3 acres big. It was not worth the money.
This tour was awesome! We saw 6 sloths, as well as various other wildlife. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, and knew the answer to every single question we had. Also free watermelon at the end!
As I told our incredible and amazing guide Bernald, he was worth every penny, 5 stars!!! We saw several 2 and 3 toed sloths and 2 mammas with babies! He pointed out birds and insects and explained the ecosystem beautifully. Our guide took pictures of everything for us and answered all of our questions with patience and kindness. He was very knowledgeable, and we learned quite a bit! I totally recommend this tour- it’s educational, ethical, and if you want to see sloths in their natural environment, this is your tour!
Oh wow! What an experience! We absolutely do not regret booking at this place. It is clearly worth the detour! We were lucky enough to see several sloths, some of which were "in full action" (something quite rare according to our guide). We also discovered other animals such as: porcupine, "blue jeans" frogs, various birds, etc. The guide (Ivana) was of very high quality, very knowledgeable, and really kind. She is equipped with a telescope and takes photos/videos for us, which is extraordinary given that the sloths are way up in the air!!! We definitely recommend this tour. You will not be disappointed!
Great! Very informative and guide took lots of pictures for us and was so good with the kids and engaging with them!
We saw two types of sloths on the tour including a mama and her baby! The guide was amazing and pointed out wildlife that we wouldn’t have been able to see on our own. There were also howler monkeys and frogs. Our family had an amazing time and the guide was fun and knowledgeable and made sure that everyone in the family was able to view each animal before moving on.
Our trip was absolutely amazing and it was all because of our guide Jason. He did such an amazing job and took his time with us showing as many animals as possible. Even got to see a glass frog and monkeys along with all the sloths, and two had babies with them. Incredible and memorable. So glad we decided to go with this tour instead of the many others to choose from. Go here if you’re looking, it does not disappoint.
