We were kept in the dark about the Cable Car which only did a short loop at the top of the hill. The Cable Car was replaced by a bus. Also it wasd very difficult to find information online about the railway including being able to buy tickets. This suits the tour operators not the public. 1. The Cable Car is not working to the bottom terminus. 2. Cairns Railway station is located inside the Cairns Central Shopping Centre and you can buy a return ticket for less than the combined tour.
Phone support says they can’t respond to every one because there is too many messages. Poor excuse for a business. Do better Down Under Tours! Not worth the money you pay.
The Kuranda trip was a bit of a disappointment overall. We upgraded to the Gold Class train, which was nice with the morning bites and open bar service, but honestly, you can probably skip it and save your money. Once we got to Kuranda village, we realized our ticket only included entry to one attraction rather than full access. We saw the koalas, kangaroos, and crocodiles, but we had to pay extra out of pocket to go see the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary. Aside from those couple of stops, the village itself is mostly just a cluster of generic tourist gift shops with nothing particularly special to offer. To top it off, the Skyrail cable car wasn't running, so our return trip was just a standard coach bus back to the hotel. At $160 per person, it felt way overpriced for what we actually got. The cost might have felt justified if the cable car experience was included and operating, but as it stands, I wouldn't recommend this tour or do it again.

Skyrail is undergoing a very important upgrade and as such as been closed for the past month or so. We do however offer the tour you took which include a coach transfer via the Kuranda range. Our bus pick-up was a fair bit late because the company also does a school run. We still got to the train station on time though. A little bit confusing at the station as we had Gold Class seats before the train arrived. Once on-board we were introduced to the crew and were offered drinks and snacks. Seating was comfortable. Views incredible. Atmosphere great. Toilet in our carriage. Bars on window interrupt view but they are there for safety. The one and a half hour journey is worth it. Once at Kuranda Station you are on your own. There's a lot of stairs to get up to the town of Kuranda with a couple of rest stops. There are wheelchair or mobility impaired persons ramps and a lift at the station. The town is a beautiful rainforest destination with a couple of attractions thrown in. As part of Gold Class we got entry to Kuranda Koala Gardens or Birdworld Kuranda. Lots of souvenir shops, cafe's, pubs, restaurants, parks, walks and galleries. Unfortunately our Skyrail was cancelled due to maintenance, but the coach ride back to our drop off was welcome after a great day.
Very disappointed as the we paid for the Gold Class Rail and Sky Rail experience as well and the SkyRail portion was closed for the duration we were there. Do not understand why it was advertised and our payment was accepted if it was not going to be opened.

I'm surprised that you were able to book a trip including Skyrail experience as Skyrail has been closed for a very welcomed upgrade for the past month also. If you could give me your booking details or just number, I could double check what was booked and go from there. Otherwise, your booking would have been Kuranda Scenic Rail with coach transfer to or from Kuranda. I hope you enjoyed the gold class in the train and your time in Cairns. We loved the Gold Class Scenic Railway, the steward was very funny and interactive, plus scenery was beautiful. Service and food great, really worth paying the extra $$. Bit of a rainy day, put it is the tropics 😅 Sky rail being serviced so couldn't do that part but price was adjusted to reflect this.
This was an unforgettable experience. We travelled up to Kuranda by train and came back on sky rail. Fantastic day out thoroughly enjoyed the train ride but coming back on sky rail was excellent. Good opportunities to stop and take photos. Highly recommended.
Booked the skip the line skyrail and scenic rail gold class for 7 people on the 28th of July. The booking was first confirmed at least a month ago. 2 weeks before the trip, I contact the company to confirm pick-up time and location, been told by the service team that the skyrail is under maintenance and they have to change mu booking to coach and then rail; also they will refund me the difference. The next day, instead of confirming my booking, they cancel my whole booking! when I contact the company, they insist it was my own problem because I book their attraction through Booking.com! They will not help me to rebook. I was eventually able to repurchase the tickets and received the confirmation letter again. Now 2 days before my trip, the company told me they oversold their gold class tickets and downgraded my booking from gold class to heritage class, also they will refund me the difference! Did I not just go through the same hoopla before? How is this acceptable? I am sure will not recommend anyone to use this company for any tours! Horrible service!!

I managed to find your bookings and can confirm that your booking was cancelled on the 17th July by a Viator customer representative. Now, I cannot explain why it was cancelled. Did you reach out to them and have some sort of conversation with them that might have led them to cancel your booking? Not sure but could be an explanation. Viator sold a toir that wasnt backed by an operator, no sky train and no dokd class seats. Just fake. Veru dispoointing, will never use Viator again

Great trip certainly worth it. Nice views Download the app as it provides commentary on the sky rail. Definitely pay the bit extra for gold class on the train. Great food good wine and beverages. Excellent staff interaction
