Nach mehr als einem Jahrhundert als Ferienort hat Cascais eine gewisse Bekanntheit, die neueren Resorts fehlt. Seine Geschichte ist in den Villen entlang der Küste sichtbar. Die geschützte Sandbucht war einst ein prähistorischer Fischerhafen.
Bevor Sie sich in Richtung Cabo da Roca bewegen, möchten Sie vielleicht einen Spaziergang durch das historische Zentrum von Sintra machen. Dies ist eine gute Zeit, um sich auszuruhen, zu Mittag zu essen und traditionelles regionales Gebäck zu probieren. Cabo da Roca, der westlichste Punkt Kontinentaleuropas, ist ein weiterer großartiger Ort, um ein paar Bilder zu machen und die Meeresbrise zu spüren.
Am Morgen starten wir von Lissabon direkt zum UNESCO-geschützten Pena Palace. Der romantische Palast aus dem 19. Jahrhundert ist ein Wunder, das Sie nicht so schnell vergessen werden. Die atemberaubende Quinta da Regaleira ist eine weitere UNESCO-Welterbestätte mit uralten geschnitzten Gebäuden, unglaublichen Gärten und einer gotischen Brise, die jeden verzaubern wird, der sich hineintraut. Dieses herrliche Anwesen ist ein Dschungel aus exotischen Bäumen und blühenden Sträuchern. Ihre Geschichte reicht bis in die Zeit der Mauren zurück, aber sie wurde nach einer kleinen Kapelle aus dem 16. Jahrhundert benannt, die Unserer Lieben Frau von Monteserrat aus Katalonien, Spanien, gewidmet ist. (Vorgeschlagenes Denkmal )
Im Herzen des Dorfes Sintra erhebt sich ein Paar ungewöhnlicher konischer Schornsteine über dem Königspalast. Dieser Palast wurde zum bevorzugten Sommerresidenz des Hofes und bestand als Residenz des portugiesischen Königshauses bis in die 1980er Jahre fort. Honestly I wouldnt do anything different in my stay in Lisbon, Alessio was an amazing tour guide (private tour guide) and literally showed us EVERY spot in Lisbon, Belem and Sintra… also took us to very local spots for the best sunset ever in Lisbon, for best pastries and Portuguese food. Also note that Alessio was very knowledgeable about the city, culture and history… a funny guy indeed. I highly recommend this tour as is the best “all-in” experience.

Filipe was awesome! He brings a lot of energy and knows his stuff cold. Very engaging and is very interesting with all his knowledge. He was born and raised in Lisbon but has worked and traveled the world. The tour is amazing and Filipe extended our tour by a couple of hours which enabled us to see more beautiful areas. We stopped for a terrific lunch at 3 Gomes. We asked Filipe to join us and grateful he did. We got a chance to get to know Filipe and enjoyed our conversation. The van was very comfortable. He certainly knows his way around Sintra and Penta as well as the Atlantic coast. We got a lot of pictures. Also, Filipe took 50 plus pictures and forwarded them to us. I can’t say enough and he made the day most remarkable and easy. A must do tour with him when visiting Lisbon. You will not regret it!!

Our guide, Adriano, was exceptional. He was friendly, very knowledgeable, and helpful. He made our day so much fun. He brought us to castles/palaces and to Cascais, and told us many interesting facts and history. He picked us up and dropped us off at our Airbnb. Highly recommend.
