Unsere Touren fahren früher und fahren direkt zum Giants Causeway, um die Menschenmassen und die Warteschlangen zu vermeiden. Der Giants Causeway ist eine Welterbestätte und soll als Ergebnis eines Vulkanausbruchs vor über 60 Millionen Jahren entstanden sein. Der Causeway wurde angeblich von Finn Mc Cool, einem einheimischen Riesen, gebaut, der über 12 Fuß groß war.
Wir werden in dieser malerischen kleinen Küstenstadt für ca. 1 Stunde zum Mittagessen anhalten. Dort gibt es viele Möglichkeiten zum Mittagessen mit lokalen traditionellen Pubs, die traditionelles irisches Essen zu vernünftigen Preisen servieren, oder wenn Sie einen Snack und einen Spaziergang entlang des Strandes mit seiner atemberaubenden Schönheit bevorzugen Landschaft.
Wir machen einen Zwischenstopp, damit Sie Dunluce Castle sehen können. Diese ikonische Ruine zeugt von einer langen und turbulenten Geschichte. Die erste schriftliche Erwähnung der Burg, die die Familie MacQuillan um 1500 an den dramatischen Küstenklippen des North County Antrim errichtete, stammt aus dem Jahr 1513.

Wir besuchen den Aussichtspunkt in Portaneevy mit spektakulärem Blick auf die Carrick-A-Rede-Seilbrücke und Rathlin Island, die nur 10 km von der Küste von Ballycastle entfernt liegt.
Cushendall ist eine malerische kleine Küstenstadt am Fuße des Tafelbergs mit seinem historischen Curvew Tower aus dem Jahr 1817. Wir halten für eine 15 min Komfortpause.

The Giant’s Causeway was the primary stop and it was wonderful. The lunch was very good at a restaurant with very nice views. It was not clear that we would drive by, and not stop, at any other significant places. The rest of the trip was driving through one section of Belfast where there are murals of the “Troubles.” The narrative was the politics of the time, the driver showing a picture of some horrendous violence that occurred, adding a distinct personal political slant.
Paddy our tour guide was full of stories and history. He and the driver effortlessly guided us through this day of the beautiful countryside. The Giants Causeway is amazing! We saw the Carrick A Rede rope bridge from a view point. The setting is gorgeous! Lunch was on our own, O'Conners was efficient and delicious! My husband loved the seafood chowder. We drove past the Peace Walls in Belfast. We saw so much on this excursion . It is a good combination of country and city.
Tour guide was great. Pick up at the port was easy. You don’t get close to the walking bridge it’s a long ways away for a photo no way to cross the bridge. Still beautiful . Causeway was cool but thought the area was going to be bigger. The lunch was great. The bus ride was great.
The way the Causeyway is put together, the stones and geology are unreal and amazing; Nature made that!?! The entire experience was through one of the quaintest and most beautiful parts of Nothern Ireland. I appreciated our guide's sense of humor, depth of knowledge, and general enthusiasm. I appreciated his personal insights into the Troubles and why Belfast is Belfast.
Stephen gave possibly the best Viator tour we have ever had and we have been on many! He was a former driver of the stars and directors of the Game of Thrones series for 6 seasons so his driving skills knowledge and commentary are unmatched. All the stops and places he took us to were spot on beautiful and highly enjoyable. I will highly recommend this tour to our family and friends traveling this way in the future.
This was a great tour. We had plenty of time to see all kinds of things, and never felt rushed. They took very good care of us.
Great value of the tour. It is much lower price than cruise’s tour for the same destination. Paddy knows Belfast and surrounding very well. Very well paced.
We happened to be in Belfast in a bad day! There was much unrest in the city so it greatly affected the course of our intended journey. Our driver and guide Stephen was fabulous, got us to the castle, the giants causeway and rope bridge before making the decision that is was in our best interest to head back to the ship. He was very concerned with our safety and well being during the entire trip and kept us informed as to what was happening and how sorry he was.
The Giants Causeway tour was one of the best excursions I’ve ever been on and Amanda & Ryan were the best tour guide/driver combo I’ve ever had. Amanda was so engaging with everyone. I’ve never had a “bad” guide but never one that made it a point to talk to and get to know everyone on board. And 21 year old Ryan handles that coach like main kids handle a bike, effortless. Amanda’s lunch recommendation in Ballycastle (O’Connors) was spot on and they deserve their own accolades. They were on top of it when we swarmed their business and but they hustled to get everyone taken care of within the hour. Oh yeah, should mention the tour stops. Giants Causeway was amazing! Definitely a highlight of our 12 day cruise in the British Isles. And just the scenery you see passing by is breath taking. Book this, you won’t be disappointed.
The trip guide, Amanda, was so great. She made everyone feel comfortable, was very informative and fun. The driver Ryan also great.
