Shaolin Seafood Lunch Segel in Port Douglas

The Shaolin junk was built in Hong Kong a long time ago. She is sturdy and well kept. Flynn the skipper was friendly and fun. We motored out of the harbour, Flynn was informative and Taylor the hostess served us entrees of barramundi and crocodile spring rolls and salad with a glass of wine. We sailed around the headland and anchored off 4 mile beach and a basket of about eight very fresh, tasty tiger prawns with lemon and dipping sauce was enjoyed by all aboard. Flynn answered everyone's queries. Beautiful hot day with a lovely breeze. Perfect! PS if you can't book on their website or by phone, tickets are sold at the Daintree Tourism Bureau on Marcossan St or at other hotels or booking agents. Don't miss it! Lovely and relaxing!

This is a wonderful sail, our Captain was so knowledgeable and experienced, the lunch superb, and well served. The Shaolin is a must see, the history and layout of the vessel. Thank you for a wonderful time

Had a great afternoon enjoying excellent seafood aboard the Shaolin. Unfortunately the weather didn’t allow the ship to cruise out into the harbour so we had to cruise the river. No crocs were sighted but the captain kept us entertained with his local knowledge. The ship is a beautiful old teak junk which gave us unique experience that we thoroughly enjoyed.

This seafood lunch trip just out of the estuary is a treasure & the locals know it. The Shaolin lunch trip (and the sister boat, Lady Douglas, river trip) were recommended to me by a local & I sat with locals on the front deck learning how to peel the huge fresh prawns we were served. The captain and his mate were friendly, knowledgeable, attentive. It was the perfect trip to fit into a quieter day.

We were going to do the sunset cruise but decided on the lunchtime sail.The team on board were great and the food was sensational.Will recommend to friends visiting Port Douglas

We chose the Seafood Lunch Sail, and it was a great tour with friendly crew serving us a welcome drink (soft drink, beer or wine), and lunch (spring rolls & salad entree and cooked prawns main). There are two toilets and a cabin below deck - be sure to check it out, along with the unique history. Extra drinks were on offer at reasonable prices - just add any purchases to your name and settle up at the end of the trip. The boat was comfortable, with undercover and outdoor areas. Cushions were provided for extra comfort for sitting outside (on the deck), and once underway, the front sail was put up. As it was a little windy on the day, the skipper told us what to expect and also where we would be going. The Shaolin headed out towards the reef and stayed for a while at the mouth of the harbour, before turning around and going back into the calm of the inlet. We passed the Lady Douglas on the way in - another great local tour - before going for a bit of a croc-spotting cruise. The crew were informal and friendly and gave us information about the boat's history, things to do in Port Douglas and general local stories. The weather was brilliant on the day, which added to the relaxing atmosphere and charm of the tour. This tour offers lots of photo opportunities and views of Port Douglas. Just the right amount of food and time spent on the water. Definitely my choice of a lunchtime sail!
