Shanghai Tunnel U-Bahn Tour - mit Bierprobe

The tunnels experience was not as good as I expected more like walking the basement of a building - not scary, no ghost experience

This tour is so much fun (whether you believe in ghosts or not!). Skippy our tour guide was brilliant and very immersed in the story of Nina! We didn’t stay for pizza, but it t smelt amazing!

This was a last minute decision to take a tour of tunnels under Portland but it was well worth it. You'll tour a very old hotel with interesting history and then on to a bar with tunnels under it with more interesting historical background. The beer tasting was a several tastes of local craft beers poured from a can by the tour host within the tunnels! so unique to drink beer in a historic setting. I recommend this tour.

This 90-minute tour is an amazing mix of dark history and spooky fun. Natasha, our guide, was absolute perfection. She was funny, incredibly smart, and her storytelling kept everyone completely captivated the entire time. She really brought the history to life! Walking down into the dimly lit, dusty brick tunnels feels like stepping back in time. You have to duck under low pipes and watch your step on the uneven floors, which adds to the raw, authentic adventure. Natasha shared chilling stories about the old days and even introduced us to the history of the resident ghost, Nina. We also visited the haunted second-floor ballroom in the historic Merchant Hotel.

It was a unique and interesting experience, learning a lot about the history of the town and building. Our tour guide Doug was a very good story teller. You do spend a lot of time under the buildings, but don’t get confused that you will be in the tunnels themselves.

Not for the faint of heart. Very dark. Bumped my head several times. But interesting history, architecture, and ghost stories. Doug was a fun, knowledgeable guide.

Great tour and history of downtown Portland. Although a bit dangerous in the tunnels just watch your head and feet when down there.

The vast majority of the tour is lore about how haunted the building is. Like 80% of the tour. In fairness, the Tripadvisor title doesn't say 'haunted tour', but the official website does so some of this was my own error. I had taken the tour years ago when the majority of it was talking about the history of the buildings and Shanghai tunnels more broadly. When the tour guide was discussing the history of the building and the context of Shanghai'ing in the city it was really interesting. Less so (personally) when we were discussing orbs seen in previous tours photos and potential spirit trafficking practices in the basement. That being said, the tour guide is definitely an engaging story teller. If you are into the spooky / haunted tour thing, would 10/10 recommend. The beer at the end is very good and we definitely recommend staying for a slice (or two) of pizza after.

Doug is a great storyteller and solid guide. The basement tour was a bit eerie. Loved the lamps. Beer tasting was delicious. The pizza place had great pizza and staff was friendly.

Great experience! We watch a lot of ghost shows; I’m a believer, husband is a skeptic, daughter I think is a believer. Doug was our guide, and he was good, kept everyone interested and engaged; good mix of history and ghost stories. The Old Town Pizza venue itself is really cool…recommend staying afterwards for pizza!
