Shanghai Nachtleben: Bars im Bund und Old French Concession

Jade was great. My husband and I were very tired from our long day but Jade brought an upbeat energy. She chose bars that catered to our music preferences but still very local Was a great night out.

I Love been shown around so i dont need to do any research, also lovely to chat with someone local to get a real perspective of Shangahi and China!

Had an absolute fantastic time with Jim on this experience! He showed me some cool bars and really tailored the evening to things I wanted to do. For my first time in Asia without speaking the language, it was worth every penny!

Jim is an excellent host. He speaks great english and immediately built a level of comfort and rapport with us. He picked us from our hotel in the Shanghai city centre nearby the Bund and took us to various locations in Shanghai, including an easter egg at the end that I will not spoil in this review. He is very knowledgeable about Shanghai and Chinese culture and society, as well as the background of foreign visitors and their perceptions about the country. We were never bored with him and he always went the extra mile to show us the true beating heart of the city's nightlife - including getting baijiu from a local shop in a working class neighbourhood. You will leave this tour feeling like you got a real taste of Shanghai, especially for us who were visiting first time for business. I highly recommend it, even if you end up being the only person (it was only my sister and I for the tour we booked). It will be a fantastic night.

Booked this tour for my friend's birthday and it did not fail to please! We visited 4 iconic nightspots with our guide Jim, who was absolutely brilliant! The locations were diverse and well picked, allowing for a variety of different experiences - which is exactly what we had hoped for. This tour is a must if you want to experience the Shanghai nightlife from somebody who knows it well. Highly recommended!

Tour: Excellent from start to finish. This is a private tour so you can pick and choose to suit your needs if you are not in the mood for a late night or you are then this tour can be changed to suit you needs. We opted for a relaxed night as we did we had a long day with an earlier tour. This tour was provided to us by an excellent, knowledgeable and very approachable guide called Stephine Fan. She was brilliant. We had a fantastic time no question she hesitated on and we had quite a lot.. telling us about the history of the area of the bars and the architecture inside and out to taking us to a bar called "Pree" which'd served boozy ice pops which was a nice surprise in the night heat. we went to a number of stops and had a lovely drink in "Cobra Lily" which is in the French concession area which I highly recommend. from there to a bar called "Funkadeli" here there seemed to be the area of a more western vibe but nice to experience. I would highly recommend this tour as you can change to be a high paced to be ending up in a high end nightclub (with a shark tank in the club) to a quiet relaxed bar in the French concession area there is such a range in such a diverse city. Strangely enough we opted for our last stop at a tea house a suggestion from Stephanie. Here is where we had a lovely encounter with the owner and showing us all the different teas and brewing methods this was located on No364 Hefei Road a very different end to the night then our usual nights out but we wanted it that way as we had a busy morning next day. Transportation: Excellent!! Stephanie arranged all through an app on her phone and we were waiting no longer then 5mins on any transport between bars. There is an option to stay on at the end of your tour in an area or drop back to the hotel the option is yours.

<p>We had a nice time. It's just the two of us, but we went to like 4 place and had a bunch of drinks even on a Tuesday. It's exactly as described. </p> <p>The guide manages events for multiple bars/clubs. In other words, we got to bypass lines because she knows people.</p>

Great tour and guide! Lots of fun and insights to Shanghai and some of the most known bars and clubs. Glad we did it the first night to know the places for our next evenings.

<p>I was travelling alone as a female, which can make going out at night a bit tricky. On this tour it was just me and the guide Jim. We went to a mix of high-end and local bars and tried some lovely craft beers, enjoyed amazing lamb kebabs, and then went up the tower to see the amazing view of the city lights. Jim was great company, really good English, interesting to talk with and happy to vary the itinerary based on my interests. Highly recommended way to see the nightlife from a local's perspective.</p>
