Gusar ist die nördlichste Siedlung des Landes (von Großstädten), hat ca. 90.500 Einwohner und die direkte Entfernung nach Baku beträgt 180 km. Ab Ende des 2. Jahrtausends v. Chr. Siedelten sich hier Menschen an. Es gibt viele Denkmäler und Attraktionen aus verschiedenen Epochen. Betrachtet man das Volkshandwerk, so ist das Teppichweben am weitesten verbreitet, insbesondere die Herstellung fusselfreier Teppiche. Solche Produkte entstehen entweder in Haushaltsgeräten oder in der Innenstadt. Es gibt eine große Weberei mit einer einzigartigen Besonderheit - darin gibt es die größten (Zehn-Personen-) Webstühle in ganz Aserbaidschan. Die Region Gusar zieht jedes Jahr eine große Anzahl von Liebhabern des alpinen Skisports an. Hier, nicht weit von der Stadt entfernt, befindet sich der beliebteste Winter-Sommer-Ferienort „Shahdag“.

Die Stadt Gusar begrüßt die Gäste sofort mit kristallklarer Bergluft und unglaublichen Panoramen, von denen sie den Atem raubt. Aufgrund ihrer geografischen Lage wird diese Stadt das „Nordtor“ genannt, das zum benachbarten Dagestan führt.
Im Winter ist es ein Skigebiet, und im Sommer ist es eine Herberge, die auf dem Schoß des Kaukasus liegt. In Aserbaidschan wurde Shahdag das erste Skigebiet. Schließlich besuchen nicht nur diejenigen, die Skifahren und Snowboarden möchten, die Anlage, sondern auch diejenigen, die ihren Kindern die schneebedeckten Hänge zeigen, die frische Bergluft einatmen und auf der Veranda des Restaurants Kaffee trinken möchten.

Shahdag is a beautiful place where we find mountain blanketed with snow and exciting fun filled activities like cable cars, skiing, quad bikes, zip lines, and a roller coaster etc! The place is just super cool!
Took day tour to shahdag as Ati wasted our previous 1 day tour by making multiple stops and spending too much time on lunch. First time we barely got 2 hr at shahdag and couldn't do more than 1 ride as there are long queue after lunch at shahdag. In our day tour we burned our 300 azn but worth the money as we took private tour and got full day and 3 rides and leisure time at shahdag. Shahdag feels like heaven. Must try caoster, cable chair and zip line. But go for full day tour to only shahdag. Tour company tends to sell other tours where you will waste your time. Only tour to shahdag is must do and don't add anything else while you go to shahdag otherwise you won't get to try most rides due to long queue.
Ati tour should make value for tourist which we didn't notice as compared to other tour that we took from Ati. Shahdag needs good 6 to 7 hrs to explore atleast 3 rides and chill in the mids of snow mountain. Ati made us reach to shahdag after lunch and wasting our first half day by making multiple stops and also halting for lunch which was over an hour. Due to this, we got only 2 hrs at shahdag in which we could cover only 1 ride. They are tour company and make tour value for money and time for tourist rather than trying to get another tour from tourist and make money. Better time management is needed for shahdag tour. Anyone who is going to Shahdag, use tour company who gives 1 day tour to just shahdag so tht you can enjoy all rides at shahdag. Shahdag gets busy after lunch and all rides have long queue. Reach shahdag by 11 am so tht you get enough time. We took another day tour just to shahdag and had enough time though we wasted another 300 Azn but worth the experience. Coaster ride, zip line and cable chair must do.
Shahdag was probably our favourite! I loved the drive from Baku to Shahdag. Had so many activities at the mountain resort to choose from. Our tour guide Tahir was a delight!
Shag dag tour agents staffs all of them are super friendly . Driver and tour guide even operator Mr Ali he is deeply serve to his clients as friends . Azerbaijan is not the most attractive place in the world for tour . I am solo traveller around the world . Azerbaijan is the 153th country on my list . However , Baku is great city , beautiful Baku boulevard, Gabala and goba are the good place to enjoy with serve of Shag dag agent .
