Not good, after paying for wine tour it was such a hassle, we were told we didn’t pay for sightseeing tour just wine tour. It took over an hour to figure everything out..,very disappointed!!
July is not the time of year to go. September would be better weather for sitting on top of the bus dress well

Be prepared to hear about multiple types of alternative life choices. This is totally not necessary on this tour to go into. Also, some things we were told we would see and didn’t see, they just said oh here is where this is, but you couldn’t see it and it wasn’t close to a stop.

It worked perfect!!!! Hop off at the places we wanted to see. Stay on for the places we had no interest. Always a bus to catch within minutes. Worked perfect!

There are two companies who do the hop-on-hop off tours. Take the other one-City Sightseeing. They have very rude and obnoxious people who come by and try to get your business from the Big Bus, but go anyway. Not only is it less expensive, but they go to twice as many places. We bought a ticket for the Big Bus on the spot and asked if they had any direct book discounts; they did. The bus was waiting for us when we arrived at Union Square but it turns out that that empty bus is not the one you take, it is just for show but they don't tell you that. The one that came by a few minutes later was completely full on top so we got on the lower level and waited for a top seat after a few stops when people got off. The commentary is mostly music and a rather condecsending script that doesn't give much value to what you are driving by. They could do so so much better. Because they only announce the stops via the headsets you have to either be looking at a map or know where you are otherwise. As a native, it was still difficult to determine where the drop spots were. We got off at what we thought was the Pier 39 stop (it wasn't-there is indeed one right in front) but had to wait 52 minutes for the bus after lunch. Also, my hedset setting kept changing to other languages even though I didn't touch it so my companion and I just gave up after a while. I love hop on hop off busses and take them in almost every place we go. But given the choice, take the other company instead.

That there are several stops where they could get offf and explorer. That there will be another hopper to go to another place to explore.

Well good weather is always a plus for this escursion to enjoy the top of bus . It was cold and windy on 7/8. I have been on this type of bus in Miami much better because you have a live person guiding you and not audio. The audio does not align with where you are in the city sometimes and its informal and pre recorded. I did not like that at all.

This is a great way to see the entire hot spots in San Francisco. The drive over the Golden Gate bridge is spectacular. Wherher you spend a day or several days, it is well worth it.
