Er ist der größte Süßwassersee Armeniens und einer der größten Höhenseen der Welt.
Das Kloster besteht aus zwei Kirchen, Surp Arakelots (Heilige Apostel) und Surp Astvatsatsin (Heilige Mutter Gottes), gebaut mit dunklem Vulkanstein. Die Kirche liegt auf einem Hügel und bietet einen Panoramablick auf den Sevansee und die umliegenden Berge.
Das Viertel verfügt über Holzbalkone, Steinhäuser, rote Ziegeldächer und gepflasterte Straßen, die das reiche Erbe der Stadt widerspiegeln
Eingebettet in die Wälder von Dilijan, ist das Kloster von sanften grünen Hügeln umgeben, was es zu einem friedlichen Rückzugsort macht. Es wurde zwischen dem 10. und 13. Jahrhundert erbaut und ist ein wichtiges religiöses und kulturelles Zentrum.

Arsen was my tour guide and he was fantastic - great communication and very good knowledge. Was able to help me out with everything and gave very good recommendations. Would definitely recommend him and Tatev tours.
The tour was very convenient to schedule and the itinerary was flexible. The guide was friendly and gave us glimpse of the history of the places we went to and we stopped in between for photos in the beautiful mountain roads. The monastery in Sevan lake had 200 stairs but we have the flexibility to go up or not. Even below the monastery there are souvenir shops, fruit shop, bakeries and restaurant so you can opt to stay down and visit these stores. Overall it was lovely experience the road trip to all the places itself is really good.
