Es ist eine der ältesten Städte in Europa und hat eine große künstlerische Schönheit und Gebäude aus fast allen Epochen der Geschichte (arabischer, gotischer, Mudéjar-, Renaissance- und Barockstil). Toledo wird die „Stadt der drei Kulturen“ genannt, da Christen, Moslems und Juden zusammengelebt haben. Im 16. Jahrhundert war es auch der Wohnort des großen Malers El Greco. Sobald Sie in Toledo angekommen sind, können Sie Ihren Tag in Toledo nach Ihren Wünschen gestalten. 1 Stunde geführte Wanderung in Toledo ist inbegriffen. Dieses Mudéjar-Bauwerk wurde 1180 erbaut. Es besteht aus fünf Schiffen, die durch Säulen mit Hufeisenbögen voneinander getrennt sind. Im 15. Jahrhundert wurde es in eine Kirche umgewandelt, obwohl es heute nur noch ein Denkmal ist, das für Besucher geöffnet ist. Es hat eine Kassettendecke aus Holz, platereske Altäre und ein Altarbild von Berruguete.
Die Pfarrkirche muss nach der christlichen Reconquista der Stadt von Alfonso VI. Im Jahre 1085 gegründet worden sein, denn die erste Nachricht, die wir von ihrer Existenz haben, stammt aus dem Jahr 1142. Seit dem ersten Mudejar-Gebäude hat sie den großen Bogen mit Mehrfachprofilen überlagert Hauptbogen, der das Hauptschiff vom Presbyterium trennt, zusammen mit den robusten Strebepfeilern dieses Teils des Langhauses und einem kleinen Dreifachbogen auf einem Ziegelfries, der im Mudejar-Stil angeordnet ist und im hohen Teil des ehemaligen halbrunden Heiligtums der Kirche erhalten bleibt ursprüngliche einschiffige Kirche.
Die Primas-Kathedrale der Heiligen Maria von Toledo ist eine römisch-katholische Kirche in Toledo, Spanien. Es ist der Sitz der Metropolitan Archdiocese Toledo
Heute befindet sich dort das Armeemuseum der Stadt. Der Bau stammt aus römischer Zeit. Während der Regierungszeit von Alfonso VI und Alfonso X 'the Wise' wurde es umgebaut und wurde zum ersten Beispiel einer quadratischen Festung mit Türmen an den Ecken. Es wurde erneut von Kaiser Karl V. umgebaut, diesmal von dem Architekten Alonso de Covarrubias. Die Fassaden sind im Renaissancestil gehalten und haben Türme und Zinnen mit Zinnen nach einem Entwurf von Alonso de Covarrubias, der später von Juan de Herrera fertiggestellt wurde. Nach dem letzten Wiederaufbau wurden hier die Büros und das Museum der Armee untergebracht.

The tour company overbooked. We were the last two standing with one seat left on the bus. After 30 confusing minutes they took a single rider off the bus and we boarded, sitting at opposite ends of the coach. Very poor organization and communication.

We had spent nights in Toledo before.Tour guide recommended that we do not do the Tourist Train, but to do her tour, so we paid 20 euros each extra to do so. Problem was we were constantly on the move with little time to take photos other than the designated stops. We felt rushed and we had no intention of having lunch, but we would not have had time anyway. I would call this a non stop whirlwind tour of Toledo, and would recommend seeing the Alcazar rather than the Synagogue, which was not really much to see. Also, the area where we were let loose for lunch was isolated with not many choices to eat.
Dear William, You bought our Toledo Full day on your own with a panoramic tour in the Tourist Train of Toledo. Given that you were already doing a bus panoramic tour with us, our guide gave you the option to upgrade your tour visiting 2 other monuments with the group, instead of doing the train panoramic tour, and you agreed with this. The 20 euros you paid was for the ticket to the cathedral with an inside guided tour. We are sorry that you regret to have made that choice and that you would have preferred to have enjoyed more free time on your own. The Synagogue you visited is a National Monument, and one of the highlights of the city. We agree with you that the Alcazar is also very interesting, specially for those people interested in the military history as it’s the Museum of the Army. Our tour stopped for lunch in an area with a few restaurants and shops for our travelers to choose the one they prefer. It’s great that you spent some nights in Toledo before.
