Die schöne Stadt Bath ist seit der Römerzeit ein Reiseziel. „Aquae Sulis“, wie der ursprüngliche Name der Stadt lautet, soll seit etwa 43 n. Chr. Besiedelt gewesen sein. Die römischen Bäder sind sowohl als denkmalgeschütztes Gebäude als auch als Scheduled Monument ausgewiesen.
Bath Abbey ist für viele das Zentrum der Stadt. Die Abtei ist eine der meistbesuchten Sehenswürdigkeiten im Südwesten.
Die Reise vom Abbey Courtyard zur York Street führt Sie durch die Kingston Parade, die in Wirklichkeit eher ein Platz als eine Promenade ist, wie der Name schon sagt. Dies ist ein beliebter Ort zum Sammeln und Entspannen mit herrlichem Blick auf die Kathedrale und die römischen Bäder.
Die North Parade Passage, früher bekannt als Old Lilliput Lane, ist eines der wenigen Beispiele prägeorgianischer Architektur in Bath. Die meisten Fachwerkhäuser wurden im Laufe der Jahrhunderte wieder aufgebaut, aber Sally Lunns (Nummer 4 North Parade Passage) hat immer noch sein Fachwerk.

Es gibt wohl keinen besseren Ort, um die georgianische Architektur von Bath zu sehen als den Circus. Der Circus hieß ursprünglich „The King’s Circus“.
Der Halbmond wurde zwischen 1767 und 1775 erbaut. Hier gibt es 30 denkmalgeschützte Häuser. Es gibt mehrere andere georgianische Halbmonde in der Stadt Bath, darunter Lansdown Crescent und Somerset Place.
Der Royal Victoria Park wurde 1830 von Prinzessin Victoria eröffnet, die mit elf Jahren die zukünftige Königin war.
Die Gay Street war Teil der Circus-Entwicklung, die von John Wood the Elder entworfen und von John Wood the Younger nach dem Tod seines Vaters fertiggestellt wurde. Viele der Häuser entlang dieser Strecke sind denkmalgeschützt.

Das 2006 eröffnete Thermae Bath Spa wurde auf dem Gelände der ehemaligen Schwimmbäder in der Beau Street erbaut. Das Spa wird mit dem natürlichen Thermalwasser des Minerva-Bades beheizt.

A bit over priced and lots of people being let in at once. But because I was travelling solo, the handheld phone guide was perfect.
We really enjoyed this tour. We've been meaning to do it for a while as we've done one from this company before so we know they're always good quality and easy to use. We never have any issues using the app, like others have said - it's really straightforward and it does what it says it's going to do. You also get the tour for a month, which makes it great value and means you can do it at your leisure. Absolutely fascinating and we've learned loads about Bath that we didn't know before (and we're regular visitors).

I was disappointed with the amount of information provided on the Roman Baths. I ended up having to use the headsets provided at the Baths. The information on all the sites was way too cursory and not meaningful enough to warrant acquiring the tour.

Attempted a number of times to use offline...download tour blah, waste of time. I am phone savvy...but this stumped me. Didn't complete sights 3 to 18. Would not recommend.

After having had excellent experiences of using Viator in the USA, this one left us sorely disappointed. This fee is to be able to download an App that offers commentary on a walking tour across Bath. Totally different from what I was looking for. Was further deceived into thinking I was getting into something else when the email from Viator asked me to go to their office to collect my tickets. That office was closed and pointed to another location where they had re-located and there was no office in that second building either. The phone number to call was a non-UK number which no longer existed. Seemed like a scam.

The tour functions normally and thousands of travellers use it without issue each year. its a very bad experience using this service I have paid £35.96 and we were unable to use it, and no one responded to my calls. I paid for another company to get my tour sorted. .please refund the amount.

This is a good idea and was great to start with. But then the App kept crashing. I had to uninstall and reinstall three times and gave up in the end. I did message someone about it but I just got told to make sure I was online...which I was. I also had problems with the audio not playing properly when it was working at the beginning so all in all I'd not recommend this.
