Eines der wichtigsten historischen Sehenswürdigkeiten von La Paz ist die San Francisco-Kirche (Iglesia de San Francisco), die auch als San Francisco Basilica (Basílica de San Francisco) bekannt ist.

Nur wenige Meter von der ruhigen Plaza San Pedro entfernt liegt eine der berühmtesten und korruptesten Institutionen der Welt, das San Pedro Prison. Was San Pedro so interessant macht, sind die Bedingungen, in denen rund 1500 der hartnäckigsten Verbrecher Boliviens leben. Das Gefängnis ist eine Gesellschaft in sich, in der es Geschäfte und Restaurants gibt, die von Insassen, Frauen und Kindern geführt werden, die freiwillig mit inhaftierten Familienmitgliedern leben und ironischerweise einige der belebtesten Kokainlabors des Landes.
Die gepflegten Gärten der Statuen, die Parkbänke, die die Midway zwischen dem von der Innenstadt kommenden Autoverkehr säumen, waren ziemlich cool. El Prado ist auch von riesigen Bürogebäuden umgeben, in denen sich viele Restaurants befinden.
Avenida Camacho: Eine der wichtigsten und traditionellsten Straßen der Stadt La Paz befindet sich im Stadtzentrum. Seine Route beginnt am Obelisk-Platz und endet beim ehemaligen städtischen Zoo, der auch als Affenpark bekannt ist. Diese Straße wurde zu Ehren des ehemaligen Präsidenten der Republik, Eliodoro Camacho, benannt.

The best walking tour I have ever done! Such interesting information with pictures and video’s shown as examples as well. Charlie explained everything very well and kept our attention the whole time. Visited both iconic places of La Paz as well as local spots I wouldve never found myself. Must do in La Paz!

Honestly was amazing. 10/10 would recommend. I was very lucky and no one had signed up so it was just me and the guide - Charlie. Charlie was unreal, he showed me his favourite empanada place when I said I was hungry and hungover, told me all these amazing stories and history while still keeping it interesting and engaging. Charlie definitely made the tour so ask for him if possible but still the walking tour really explains the amazing history of La Paz that you wouldn’t get if you didn’t search for it.

You walk almost all the important places of La Paz and its histories but the tour in some parts should be more interactive with the locals.

Charlie provided an informative and entertaining walking tour of La Paz that included many of the interesting locations in this unique and fascinating city.
