I spontaneously booked this experience while my husband and daughters were on another adventure, and I'm SO glad I gave myself this gift. Experiencing a non-commercial, intimate, private healing in Ubud framed my entire stay in the area, and even prompted a change in our family's plans -- taking us to Pura Tirta Empul a couple of days later. I left the one-hour private session feeling at peace and as if I'd been truly understood by the healer, Jero Ayu and her young assistant, Putu. Something special clicked for me in ways that personal healing work, alone and with therapy, hasn't. Jero Ayu was focused, attentive and the present in ways I've never experienced in any Western spiritual or religious event. Perhaps because we're all women (and mothers), or perhaps because I was just in a place to receive what was offered, there were none of the mental and emotional barriers that typically get between me and being present in a session. I described it to my teen daughters that evening as getting a private spiritual massage in church. Putu served as a kind, patient and very helpful guide for me (especially as a first timer), through WhatsApp and in person, for logistics in getting to the site, then translating between me and Jero Ayu. She provided early guidance during the session, then discretely left us during the healing ceremony itself, rejoining to talk me through the blessing. Because I'd booked this at the last minute while I was already away from my lodging, I didn't have a sarong or towel with me. If you're booking ahead, you may be glad to have something to dry off with afterwards. But somehow drying in the afternoon sun while having an informal conversation with Putu and Jero Ayu enhanced the experience for me even more.

A great way to initiate yourself into Balinese culture and experience. Authentic healers are the go, not some flash high-cost pretender. This woman is all of that. Very shamanic in nature and talented in this path of natural healing. I enjoyed every minute, and the water blessing finished it off beautifully. Trisha was helpful and lovely to organise it with as well. Keep in mind that time may stretch in this respect, as healers don't have a time frame when they do what they do.
