Absolutely loved our trip to SeaLife in Weymouth today. We have been to many aquariums in this country and found this the most accessible and enjoyable (even when compared to some of the larger 'flashier' ones. Well set up and didn't feel cramped or rushed. Would definitely recommend this aquarium
Nice staff on site when I visited, though there were few around when I arrived at opening time. No sign of overall management. The place looked a bit tired and some signs need to be replaced. I even came across a discarded pair of pants! Also, there was the annoying misuse of the apostrophe on several signs, though the information given was educational. Lovely animals, but I thought the turtles were in small ponds. It was a nice day weather-wise, so good to walk around outside, and I enjoyed the areas that had been left wild. The rock pools were supposed to be 'interactive' but I wasn't allowed to touch anything. Overall, an interesting place to visit
I am beyond appalled with your cashless policy in the coffee shop! Shame on you it’s the first and last time my family will be visiting your premises! In England cash should be used as part of its economy!
A wonderful place to see ocean life, with lots of information and really cool exhibits. Highlights for us were the otters, live feeding was a lot of fun. Good for a whole day out, either with a picnic or eating at the restaurant. Staff very friendly and super helpful. Not too badly priced, about the same as any other Sea Life, worth the fee in my opinion. Best for families certainly. A must do if in Weymouth.
I really enjoyed going with Winchelsea School when I was going on Holiday in Warmwell. Great Sea Creatures The Staff are friendly, nice and polite.
Good day out with the kids, plenty to do for them and lots of animals to see, was nice it was outside too, best part was the rock pools, turtle sanctuary was disappointing
Great experience - we went with friends whilst staying at the Premier Inn and it is literally 1 minute from the hotel. Can easily spend a couple of hours walking around and also has great outdoor area for kids with a pool and a great gift shop - staff were informative and friendly and would recommend.
We had a lovely day at Sea Life, despite the rain. The talks at feeding time were lovely - some of the language could've done with explanation for the younger people - but mostly it was interesting, positive, and clear. We particularly enjoyed the otters and seals, and would recommend the fairy penguin feeding time as we went back to see them afterwards and they'd all hidden for afternoon naps. We also used the cafe. They had lots of heatable fast food, some sandwiches, and freshly baked pizza. The pizza was adaptable and came with GF options which we used. You can only order the largest pizza size as gluten free, but it was pleasant and could be adapted with toppings removed if needed. Our party also had nuggets, burgers, and normal pizza, all of which was fine. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and it was good to get takeaway hot drinks on a rainy day. The fish viewing areas were magical, and the seals were so friendly. It was lovely to hear about the rescue stories or breeding programmes of so many of the animals, and the playground and toilets were clean and pleasant. We didn't realise until we arrived that we could come in and out of the centre during the day, which would have helped us plan food / our day better, but it was still good. There were puzzles around the site for kids to complete to win a sticker. We booked online which was easy. We arrived around 10.30/11am, and were ready to head home about 2.30/3pm.
The venue itself was lovely, and the talks were very informative. However, I have had to give a 2 star rating due to how disappointing our arrival experience was. When we arrived, we were required to wait in a queue caused by a green screen photo area. I asked a member of staff whether we could go straight through, as we did not want photos taken, but was told this was not possible. My child is autistic and finds queues particularly difficult. We had already shown our Merlin carer’s pass on entry, and my child was also wearing a sunflower lanyard. I feel your staff would benefit from greater awareness and understanding of invisible disabilities, as this unfortunately had a negative impact on the start of our day. Thankfully, the customers in front of us shared our frustration and chose to decline the photos, which helped move the queue along.
Absolutely perfect from start to finish. Everyone was super friendly. Tip. If you are taking children when it’s warm don’t forget to take their swimsuits they will love the facilities available.
Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback. We’re delighted to hear you had a perfect stay from start to finish and that our team made you feel so welcome. We also really appreciate your helpful tip for future guests — the facilities are definitely a big hit with children in the warmer weather! We hope to welcome you and your family back again soon.
