Die nostalgische Zahnradbahn wurde im Jahr 1893 eröffnet. Sie transportiert Besucher zur atemberaubenden Schynige Platte mit einem herrlichen Blick auf die Gebirgslandschaft und zu einer beliebten Wanderregion mit unvergleichlicher Aussicht auf Eiger, Mönch und Jungfrau

Die Fahrt ist ungeführt, Sie können einfach in den Zug einsteigen. Den Standort/GPS des Abfahrtsbahnhofs finden Sie bei Google und auf der Website der Jungfraubahnen. Die liebevoll gepflegten historischen Lokomotiven und Wagen der Bahn machen die Fahrt selbst zu einem wunderbaren Erlebnis für Menschen jeden Alters. Highlights auf der Schynige Platte auf 1967 m ü. M. sind der Botanische Alpengarten mit 600 verschiedenen Pflanzenarten und viele Wanderwege. Beim Wandern auf der Schynige Platte kommt man nicht weit. Alle paar Schritte bleibt man stehen, um die Sterne, Dolden und Glocken zu bewundern, die auf den Wiesen blühen. Oder man bleibt stehen, um das Panorama zu bewundern. Alle beginnen, das Tempo zu drosseln. Falls sie es nicht schon getan haben: bei der Nostalgiefahrt mit der Schynige Platte-Bahn oder später im Restaurant mit seiner atemberaubenden Aussicht. Täglich während der Saison können Sie von 11 bis 14 Uhr die warmen Töne des Alphorns genießen.

A ride up the Schynige Platte with the historic cars is great. The view becomes more fantastic the higher the track "climbs". A ride takes 50 minutes. Enjoy these, because I can't understand the people who sleep during such a trip.;-) The only negative: the day before our trip was storm and the timetable was limited. The limited timetable was also valid on our sunny, windless following day. Only, the SBB app did not turn on these restrictions. We had to wait for the next connection in Wilderswil for over an hour. On request to the SBB, we were informed that this was due to the Jungfrau Railways, because they had not communicated the information to the SBB. Communication between the two Enterprises has room for improvement.
It was just a super great day! From online ticket purchases to information about available parking spaces, rail travel to catering is a hit. Almost everywhere very friendly people who made the day a great experience. Added to that, we moved in an absolutely fantastic autumn day...

A unique experience!! Especially in autumn highly recommended when it has high fog and you can enjoy the sun and the early sunset. The place has fully convinced, everything was great.

Perfect autumn hiking weather in the mountains means escaping the high fog in the midlands. The train ride from Wilderswil to the Schynige Platte through the mist into the sun is a great experience and the view of the Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau and many other mountain peaks was impressive.
It takes 52 minutes to travel with the historic cog railway. The view in fine weather is fantastic. ⛰️🌞🚂 For birthday children, the ride is on their day of honor free of charge and they receive first a sweet surprise im Bergrestaurant. 🧁
Stunning views everywhere. A delight. what a view! Slow and peaceful. The hotel at the top is so nice and a hot drink is welcome.
We have done this trip before and the views are amazing. I would like to complement the compilers of the treasure hunt. Our 10 and 8 granddaughters loved it and were further entertained by the puzzles on the way down. This free trail gave them much more satisfaction than expensive thrill rides on other peaks.
We made a very nice circular hike, but bought sunscreen before because we forgot at home. Over a beer, review everything.
