Very fun day and fun crew on the boat. Trip went smoothly. Only thing missing was information that we needed to go to a ticket center and get physical boarding cards, the tickets we received online wasn’t valid.
The fast boat was modern, had racing car like seats & shade at the top. Staff were friendly, nearby hotel pick up arrangements were good. I got to pick up from Faliraki. Symi island is well worth the visit, you get to wander around yourself. The swimming spot was unreal!!!
A fantastic experience. Great value for money. A quick crossing to the beautiful island of Symi—one hour there and one hour back. The amount of time spent on the island is just right, and the swimming stop on the return journey rounds off the trip perfectly. I would definitely recommend this excursion
We went with the hotel transfer option - it was great to know this was a return transfer, and not one way! Delighted :)
Fantastic experience. We went to Symi on April 30th. In terms of temperature it was wonderfully warm. On the speedboat it was cold. A warm wash is therefore recommended. The crew also distribute fleece vests, but there are too few for everyone. The boat trip was relaxed. You won't notice the waves, so you won't get seasick anytime soon. Symi is beautiful. Nice colorful houses, lots of souvenir shops and restaurants. Even at the end of April it was busy in terms of tourists. We made great memories, scored nice souvenirs and had a nice lunch. Then we left by boat to St. Louis. George bay. Beautiful bay, the water was on the fresh side, but that did not stop many from taking a dip and snorkeling. Plenty of time was taken to enjoy there too. You could swim to the beach. I definitely recommend the trip!
We boarded the boat at Lardos. It’s our own fault that we didn’t work out the timings. The advert says 1 hour fast boat to Symi, however that is from Rhodes town and not from Lardos. It takes 1 1/2 hours to get to Rhodes town and then another hour to get to Symi, plus pick up stops. In all we were 3 hours on the boat. It’s not comfortable and space is limited. You’re either in the sun at the front, or under cover at the rear with no view, or if you go upstairs you get literally soaked from spray. It was like a scene from deadliest catch, they even gave out free waterproof ponchos that were useless. Eventually we gave up and sat in the middle at the back. Sadly that’s closest to the engines, and my watch immediately said I was in a ‘too loud environment’ For three hours. Literally ear damaging levels - 105db. Both kids were sick, the crossing wasn’t smooth. There’s toilets on board, but nothing else so take snacks/water. By the time we got there we had approx 2h 45m in the town and then had to come back.. another 3 hours. 25 mins stop to swim in the bay. You’ll spend twice as long on the boat as you do in the town. If you’re in Lardos, drive to Rhodes and get the boat there. You’ll see more, and it’s more comfortable. I doubt I’ll convince my kids into another boat anytime soon.
A brilliant day trip. Pick up from the hotel was easy and confirmed the day before. Symi was absolutely beautiful and the swim stop on the way back was great fun! Would definitely recommend.
Great, the crossing was very nice with a 3-year-old, it was a ride for him, on the way back he was even able to sit in front next to the driver, Symi is very beautiful and the swim in the Bay was perfect. Bring a garment for a late return at 9 PM because it is very windy
Really enjoyed our trip from Rhodes port to Symi. The boat was brand new, the crossing was fast but fairly smooth and the staff were lovely and polite. We opted for the 3.15pm departure and it worked out great as any earlier would have meant exploring Symi in the extreme heat! There is no shop / bar on the boat so go prepared (lots of shops along the harbour selling water/beer). It should be noted that for a 3.15pm departure you need to be “checked in” (have your boarding card) at least 30 mins before and they advise you queue straight away. We collected our card earlier then went for a drink and when we returned the queue was huge! We didn’t mind as we were happy to sit anywhere but if you’re in a big group / travelling as a family and want to sit together probably better to arrive and queue in good time. They do provide sun umbrellas for the queue. If you opt for the 3.15pm departure the swim stop at St George’s Bay happens on the outward journey. This was amazing - the water is so clear and blue and fun to jump off the boat, but worth keeping that in mind as you may want to bring dry clothes or abstain if you have special plans on Simi and don’t want to turn up wet and bedraggled. Symi itself was so gorgeous! So worth the trip - we loved it, it’s so picturesque lots of lovely places for drinks, shrimps and ice cream! The boat crew were fantastic and patient - special thanks to Nikos for teaching my partner how to do the worm and how to moonwalk on the return trip. It’s really made his holiday - he can’t stop worming!
Perfect trip. Highly recommend. Boat crossing was very comfortable. Symi Island is ideal for a few hours get away. We had lunch, the price was very reasonable and tasted lovely
