Schloss Miramare und der Park

Beschreibung
Miramare is a magical and romantic place, absolutely unmissable. The white castle contrasts wonderfully with the blue of the sea. A postcard view. The interior rooms are fascinating and full of history. The external park is immense, green, and perfect for a relaxing walk (access to the gardens is free). A unique gem, cared for in every detail.
Miramare Castle was built on a head land some distance across the bay from Trieste by Archduke Maximiliano of the Hapsburg family of the Austro Hungarian Empire. The castle retains much of the original furniture and demonstrates the luxury which the ruling families of Europe could enjoy in the 19th Century. The castle is very impressive with beautiful views across the bay of Trieste and also retains a small apartment from the 20th Century when it was occupied by Duke Amedeo de Aosta and his family. The castle is surrounded by a park, gardens and woodland. It is a very good way to spend a day near Trieste.
I recommend parking at the marina of Grignano and accessing a few dozen meters to the park of the castle of Miramare through a short staircase that leads into the park. With a short walk in the park you get to the castle! The gates close at 4 p.m., it seems a little early...
The park and castle are well worth a visit. We from Trieste station took bus 6 which took us to the Miramare terminus. We entered them in the park near the greenhouses, took a nice walk in the gardens where there is a small bar with toilet. The park is free of charge and entrance to the castle costs 15 euros. Adding 7 euros you can visit kitchens and castle. The beautiful kitchens but are 2 rooms, there are original ceramics of the Duke of Savoy. The castle is a wedding favor with its ethnic rooms. The interior of the castle is complete with furnishings and antiquities: the visit takes place on 2 floors but being small , the tour is done in an hour. Audio guides available. Leaving the castle, proceed downhill to the stables that are now used for art exhibitions and continue for a beautiful walk along the Lungomare. You could walk to the Victory lighthouse and stop for a coffee or lunch in the kiosks present. In October a lot of them were closed but a lot of people were still sunbathing and someone was bathing. Otherwise take bus 6 to Trieste whose stops are visible from the seafront.
The castle is a jewel and the visit is also worth the expense for the individual parts taken as "unicum". The park that welcomes the visitor is an enchanted valley, well preserved in which you can spend a lot of time. The beautiful castle both outside and inside brings an atmosphere that echoes the nineteenth century. The views of the sea are fantastic and everything seems wrapped in an aura of magic that leaves room for many legends!
Well cared for. Nice scenery. I would like to compliment you as almost the entire park is wheelchair accessible. I took my 92-year-old mom in a wheelchair and could walk around the park easily. Unlike Villa Carlotta on Lake Como where, despite the indication of the existence of a path for disabled people, the park is practically impractical for wheelchair users. Already in front of the ticket office the first difficulties as the flooring is a bowl.
The most important thing in advance: if you have the opportunity, you should visit Miramare in the pre- or post-season. Apart from the crowds, it's getting pretty warm there (the beautiful park offers cooling off). The stylishly designed castle offers a magnificent view of the open sea and the huge park with the lush greenery. The rooms inside the castle reflect the grandeur of times gone by. Emperor Maximilian clearly had an eye for the beautiful!
Miramare Castle is located in a beautiful and scenic location in the middle of the marine protected area. The white of the façade contrasts with the blue of the sea and the bright green of the park. The visit inside was very interesting and is like stepping back in time. The Castle and the Park are undoubtedly one of the wonders of our country and is definitely worth a visit!!
Today my wife and I visited the castle there is nothing negative because we were amazed by how much it was beautiful
We visited this Castle overlooking the sea a few days ago. Nice visit, interior with intact furnishings, very nice park with cafe. Better to book to access the interior. Parking is difficult to find. It is recommended to arrive by bus
