Sapphire Cruise 3-tägige Tour in die Halong-Bucht (2 Nächte auf dem Boot)

Firstly we must say that Luc, the overall Cruise Manager was amazing and so helpful in every way. The problem we had was not with the staff, it was with the company and the lack of quality food which was very basic... Vietnamese rolls which were made in the guests cooking lesson, basic pasta, minimal pieces of chicken or beef, and plates were made up with two small pieces each of everything, no buffet to help yourself to what you preferred, you ate what you were given. There was no set menu choice, it eas what it was. Also there was lunch at 1pm and then nothing until dinner at 7pm. No afternoon tea, drinks (unless you paid for everything), and even tea or coffee after lunch or dinner was charged to your room. We did a Halong Bay cruise 2 years ago and it was wonderful but with a different company. Sadly it was fully booked this time for the dates we needed.

The room and all the staff were very nice. The head tour guide in the boat was very nice and fun but a little hard to understand. The food at all meals was very enjoyable however the morning coffee was unsinkable by almost everyone we spoke to. I think it would be in their best interest to look into more appealing coffee. 😉 The overall experience was great.

It would have been nice to have somewhere to put your clothes. Beds are comfortable. Food was best on the last day. The staff was nice. If you are a coffee drinker you won’t be happy. It was quite undrinkable. Most of the other guests were also feeling the same way. Ha Long Bay is beautiful.

The cruise itself was amazing, the staff were friendly, and the meals were incredible with more courses than I could even finish. However they only provided 2 free bottles of water per person for the whole trip. Which is not even close to enough to stay hydrated when it's 40 degrees outside. We were forced to buy every bottle we needed after our freebies, which is ridiculous. 29k per bottle.

This was such a highlight of my time in Vietnam. Spending three days on the boat is definitely the way to go with these cruises. We spent a day on Cat Ba kayaking, swimming, biking, and had the most beautiful weather to compliment our time. The team on Sapphire we fun and encouraged our efforts with karaoke. All the provided meals were delicious, we were never left hungry. The happy hour deal was awesome. Special shout out to Tony, Tom Cruise, and James Bond for making our time extra amusing. :) Con: didn't have a spa on the top deck like the other boats surrounding.

Almost verything on the main cruise ship was great. Dinner service was impeccable, breakfast varied and tasty, and lunch service was delicious. The jacuzzi and shower facilities were a treat, the AC works well, and the beds/bedding clean and comfy. The staff were super attentive, kind, and so helpful. Our only complaint is a bit of mould on the curtains in our room and the fact that our window wouldn't open (we didn't have a balcony) Also, the rooms are really nice and well equipped with AC and comfy bedding - the jacuzzi in particular was a treat. However, on the day-barge, the lunch was subpar and we had a bug in our food which was treated quite carelessly by the staff when informed. Also, the staff on the day barge took our towels without asking and used them to dry the canoe equipment. And finally, the communication on the day barge also left us wanting more as we felt a little stranded at times due to the tour lead leaving a location 5 minutes before planned so we saw them driving by as we were going to the meeting point and had to race to catch up to them on our bikes. We'd give the main cruise 5 stars if it wasn't for the day-cruise providers they hired. All in all, I'd probably not do it again but I'm glad I experienced the 5 star service. I'd recommend the 2 day tour as the only thing the 3 day tour adds is a fish farm visit and cat ba island - cat ba was a highlight but it's not worth paying for an extra night on the cruise, can always do it alone for chesper and get to see ha long bay at the same time.

GREAT: 1) Food , several course all beautifully presented and top quality, great chef. 2) Bed, nice medium firm and bedding great. 3) Staff, professional and very helpful. OK: 1) Rooms bit worn down. 2) Patio to our room had barely enough room for 2 chairs and table.

Best experience ever. Beautiful staff and facilities. Food was amazing and accommodating. Tours were unbelievable and so well organised. As I booked through bookings.com we were upgraded to the best room on the cruise for no extra cost. I can’t recommend this cruise enough but make sure you do the two nights.

Everything about this trip was great ( as long as you like getting up really early) the 6+ course lunch and dinner menu was excellent in every way, even the fussy teens tried everything and ate well. Kayaking into a lagoon and onto an isolated beach: what dreams are made of. Getting to the cave before every other group in Halong Bay was worth the early start. Thank you to all the team on Sapphire.
