Der Name Firostefani kommt vom griechischen Merkmal „Stefani ton Iron“, was Krone von Fira bedeutet. Firostefani ist eines der ältesten Dörfer auf der Insel Santorin. Es liegt auf der Nordseite von Fira und gilt derzeit als ein Dorf zusammen mit der Hauptstadt von Santorini, Fira.
Seit der Zeit von Byzanz liegt Imerovigli, eines der beeindruckendsten Dörfer Santorins, auf dem höchsten Punkt der Caldera. Es wird angenommen, dass die frühe Siedlung Skaros im Jahr 1207 vom Venezianer James Varotsi erbaut wurde, dem Santorini nach der Eroberung Konstantinopels durch die Kreuzfahrer im Jahr 1204 zugesprochen wurde. Das moderne Dorf thront über einem beeindruckenden Vulkan etwa 300 Meter über dem Meeresspiegel. Es liegt etwa 3 km nordwestlich von Fira an der Straße nach Oia. Zusätzlich zur asphaltierten Straße ist das Dorf durch einen Weg mit der Hauptstadt Santorin verbunden, der endlose Ausblicke auf die einzigartige Vulkanlandschaft bietet.
Das Dorf Oia ist aufgrund seiner Sonnenuntergänge und Höhlenbauten, die sich über Ammoudi und Armeni bis zum Bezirk Perivola erstrecken, einer der berühmtesten Touristenorte weltweit. In letzter Zeit sind in den Gebäuden Hotels, Restaurants, Cafés und Geschäfte entstanden. Es ist den ganzen Tag über und bei Sonnenuntergang angesagt.
Megalochori ist ein Dorf voller Weinberge. Es befindet sich im Südwesten von Santorin und seine Region erreicht die Lage der Caldera aus dem Westen und der traditionellen Wohnsiedlung im Osten. Hier fanden Archäologen Gegenstände aus der ersten Kykladenzeit.
Das Dorf Kamari auf Santorini liegt direkt am Meer, an einem der schönsten Strände der Ostküste. Es liegt 9 Kilometer von Fira entfernt und liegt einerseits neben dem Flughafen und andererseits neben dem Fleischberg. Mit etwa 1300 Einwohnern ist es eines der größten Dörfer auf Santorini, während der Strand für viele als der beliebteste Strand der Insel gilt. Dies ist eines der „modernsten“ Dörfer seit Beginn des bedeutenden Wiederaufbaus nach dem verheerenden Erdbeben von 1956, als viele Einwohner von Episkopi-Gonia hierher zogen, um dort zu leben.

Good call shortening the sightseeing layout to 4 hours. George managed our group of seven nicely—got us to the western side just in time for the sun to drop. Driving on those island hills can be tricky but he kept a very safe, controlled pace. No rushing through stops.

This was the best tour of the entire cruise, because of our Guide Kenzo and our Driver Alex. Kenzo was prompt and met us exactly where the tour confirmation said he would be. He was so nice, spoke very clearly and projected his voice well ( without yelling) so every person on our tour could hear him clearly. When we first met Kenzo, I informed him of my Mothers hearing impairment, which we can struggle with on tours. Kenzo immediately treated my mom like he would his mother and made sure that she was always able to see him so she could lip-read and understand what was going on. That truly made a difference. Not only that, but both he and Alex were amazing photographers and knew all the good places to take our photos with the white buildings, blue domes, Azure sea, and bougainvillea. Not only did they take Instagram-worthy photos for everyone on the tour, but they did it so fast, no one was ever waiting around long. The island was beautiful, and Kenzo gave such good commentary explaining things. We paid roughly the same price as we would if we booked a tour through our cruise line, but got so much more value. We only had 8 people on our tour (compared to the fifty or more that are normally on a cruise line tour) . I cant say enough good things about this tour and our guide. Thank you.

We had the best day in beautiful Santorini thanks to Viator’s excellent customer service. We booked a small group minivan tour, but my husband and I were the only ones on the tour. Our driver had car trouble and Viator quickly rescheduled us with another driver. George arrived within 30 minutes in a beautiful Mercedes sedan. Due to our delay, he extended our tour and we saw the entire island. It was a fabulous day! George is so knowledgeable, kind, fun and entertaining. Thank you George for the wonderful memories.
