Reiseverlauf
Die Tour beginnt in unserem Geschäft Zona Bici in der Calle Arzobispo Meriño 217. Wir sind nur einen Block vom Colombus Plaza und der Kathedrale der Stadt entfernt. Dies ist also unsere erste Station. Hier teilen wir einen Teil der Geschichte des Parks und definieren einige der dortigen Geschäftigkeiten. Von dort fahren wir hinunter zur Plaza Padre Billini, wo wir seine Geschichte und auch die von La Casa del Tostado und anderen Restaurants und Geschäftigkeiten dort teilen.
Wir reiten weiter und erreichen die Ruinen des Dominicos-Klosters und des Parque Duarte, wobei wir wieder einige der Denkmäler der Geschichte und der kulturellen Bedeutung teilen. Von hier aus gehen wir zur Regina-Gasse und sehen die Agelorum-Kirche von Regina. Wir fahren die Calle Jose Reyes hinauf und treffen die Calle las Mercedes. Dort sehen wir die Iglesia de las Mercedes und das neue alternative Zentrum der Kolonialzone. Von dort aus fahren wir die Calle Sanchez hinunter und treffen El Malecón und erzählen die Geschichte des Balandra Aurora Denkmals. Hier starren wir entlang der alten Stadtmauer.
An der Südwand besuchen wir den Park San Jose, das Montesinos-Denkmal, die Casa del Gorjón und die Plaza Pellerano Castro. Von dort erreichen wir die Calle las Damas, die älteste Straße der Stadt, und hier teilen wir die historischsten Informationen. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt haben wir die Ostwand erreicht, die entlang des Ozama-Flusses verläuft. Entlang der Wand sehen wir wichtige Denkmäler wie das Cristopher Columbus House, das Hernan Cortes House und La Fortaleza Ozama. Am Ende der Calle Las Damas erreichen wir die Plaza España, wo wir Don Diego Colons Alcazar, El Barrio de las Atarazanas und die Ruinen der Zollgebäude sehen. Von dort aus fahren wir nach Santa Barabara, wo wir die Geschichte der Sklaverei in der Stadt teilen. Unsere letzte Station ist nur einen Block vom Geschäft entfernt, wo wir die Ruinen von San Francisco sehen. Dort teilen wir einige Einblicke, bevor wir zum Laden zurückkehren.

It is a very pleasant and simple bike tour in terms of physical effort, yet comprehensive and detailed regarding the points of interest visited. In addition to the bike with a basket and a bottle of cold water, the bike tour includes: 1. information simply explained - whether historical, social, cultural, aesthetic, or political, without sounding scripted by AI or a guidebook 2. perspectives and opinions from the guide that invite participation and open discussion 3. suggestions from the guide - either general or tailored to the client The guide speaks very well and clearly; he is very courteous and professional, yet at the same time, it feels like you are accompanied by a family member or an old friend from long ago. The only thing I dislike is that there isn't a bike tour/price for solo tourists, but even so, the high quality of the tour is rewarding, and the guide gave me a little extra time.

An excellent place to explore the colonial area with interesting facts and stories associated with the tourist spots. The tour lasts about two hours, and the guide takes the time to share information about each place visited. The bicycles look a bit worn out, but it is an excellent way to explore the area.
Jordano gave us an excellent tour of Zona Colonial. He was born, raised and went to school in la Zona, and supplemented his own perspective with additional study, and it shows! He included well-known historical sites as well as places known to locals not included on the official map. He also include recommendations for shopping, music and food and sent us a map afterwards with our tour route and all the additional recommendations. We biked at a slow easy pace with frequent stops. Overall excellent tour! One tip is that the bikes are INCLUDED with the tour- no need to book an extra bike rental unless you want more time afterwards.
Wonderful way to see the old town and learn the history of the Dominican Republic! Our guide kept us all entertained with stories at each stop and pointed out locations we could come back to and spend more time later. My family of four had an excellent time - thank you!
