Santiago ist eines der beliebtesten Ziele für katholische Pilger auf der ganzen Welt. Ist die Hauptstadt von Galiza (Spanien) und Standort der Kathedrale von Santiago (1075 – 1128), wo die Überreste von Santiago dem Apostolischen gefunden werden können. Die Routen nach Santiago sind UNESCO-Welterbe und werden täglich von Tausenden auf der Reise in die religiöse Hauptstadt der Iberischen Halbinsel genutzt. Auf unserer Tour werden wir den Morgen dem Besuch der Kathedrale widmen und nach dem Mittagessen in der mittelalterlichen Stadt Santiago herumhängen und einige Geheimnisse in ihren engen Gassen entdecken. Auf dem Rückweg gibt es auch einen Zwischenstopp in Valença do Minho, der portugiesischen Grenzstadt ganz oben im Norden. Hier konzentrieren wir unseren Besuch auf die Festung mit Wurzeln aus dem XII und einer sichtbaren Rekonstruktion aus dem XVIII. Eine einzigartige Aussicht auf die Stadt, den Fluss Minho (natürliche Grenze) und die spanische Seite.

We had always wanted to visit Santiago de Compostela and were beyond lucky to find Ricardo Costa to take us there from Porto. We arrived at our apartment right on time and was a fun companion for the day and was very knowledgeable about Santiago. He told us about the history and significance of every aspect of the Cathedral. We also stopped at a charming walled city on the way called Valenca do Minho. It was an unexpected place and we really enjoyed it. Ricardo stopped at a typical cafe for a sweet treat on the way and another for lunch. We really enjoyed the day and it was exactly what we wanted. We will definitely call on Ricardo again the next time we are in Portugal.
