Beschreibung

Extremely overpriced for a stressful, poorly managed experience

I rarely leave 1-star reviews, but this tour was entirely overpriced for the experience provided. At $250 per person, you expect professional communication, excellent guiding, and basic amenities—none of which we received. The Logistics & Communication (Terrible): Complete radio silence: I booked nearly a week out and attempted to reach out every single day leading up to the activity. I could not get basic trip details or a confirmation for our pickup. Conflicting details: The information on the Viator posting was highly conflicting and caused a lot of confusion. Zero support response: Even Viator support was unable to connect with the tour operator. I spent several hours of my own time trying to get in touch with absolutely no luck. Empty promises: The owner finally reached out less than 12 hours before our pickup, making the days leading up to it incredibly stressful. To make up for the communication gap, the owner offered us a bottle of wine. That never actually happened. No water provided: Make sure to bring your own water. For a long trip, bottled water was not even provided for the ride—an incredibly cheap omission but an easy fix by the operator. The Itinerary & Experience: The Guide: The guide did speak English, but he provided minimal context throughout the day. He pointed out the local mine, the nearby animals, and the tallest peaks, but don't expect a thorough explanation or a comprehensive guided experience. The Drive: Be prepared for a massive amount of driving—we spent 5+ hours in the car (Dodge Durango). Expect a long 12-hour day overall. Food & Hot Springs: Breakfast was basic (eggs, some meats/cheeses, cut fruit, and cereal). The hot springs themselves were fine and as expected. The "Chilean BBQ" was shared with multiple other tour groups, totaling about 20 people, though wine and beer were available. The "Tourist Traps": After visiting a waterfall, we were taken to a local chocolate shoppe. This was a total tourist trap. We had to wait over 30 minutes just for a couple of scoops of ice cream. It was completely unclear why this was even included in a nature and BBQ tour. DIY Alternative Note: If you are considering doing this trip on your own, the entrance fee if you drive yourself to the hot springs is only about $15. Just note that you will absolutely need a vehicle with good clearance to make it in and out safely on the rough road. Bottom line: Save your money. $250 per person is an exceptional amount of money, and this excursion is not worth anywhere near that price tag. Between the lack of communication, basic guiding, and missed promises, it is a massive gamble.

Awesome tour! Scenery! BBQ!

! This was the highlight of our trip to Chile. The stunning scenery in Cajón del Maipo, delicious BBQ, and excellent wine tasting made for the perfect day. A huge shoutout to our guide, Sebastian, who was amazing—friendly, fun, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience unforgettable. Everything was so well organized, and we couldn't have asked for a better guide. Highly recommend this tour—don't miss it!

Incredible day out in the...

Incredible day out in the Andes. Long day starting early but definitely worth it. Our driver/guide was amazing and made the day run so smoothly. Stunning landscapes with a visit to the hot springs and a beautiful Bbq lunch with wine/pisco included. Would highly recommend!

Great Tour with Tasty BBQ

We had a great time on our hot springs and BBQ tour. It was well paced and our guide Jaime was a great driver and very knowledgeable. There's just enough time at the chocolate house, hot springs and waterfall. The hot springs are a fun time, with a beautiful view. The BBQ is delicious and they are generous with the drinks. If you get a night with little moon, you'll see lots of stars from their deck. Would definitely recommend.

Long evening, but must do experience if you love the stars, relaxing, enjoying hot springs, and enjoying good food. The views are breathtaking!

Adventure in the Andes near Santiago

The tour is interesting and the views are very beautiful, but it is necessary to check the weather forecast in advance and make sure it is good and it does not get too cold. The structure of bathrooms and dressing rooms of the thermal pools is very precarious. The barbecue is served in an old ski lodge by local guides and staff who are all very kind and friendly. It’s not exactly a romantic experience, as the brochure seems to suggest, but it’s an adventure worth checking out.

Stunning Andes

This tour was absolutely incredible! I’ll start by saying it’s not for everyone—but if you have an adventurous spirit, you’re going to love every second of it. Jamie picked us up right on time in a comfortable 4WD that easily fit our group of four, along with another lovely couple. The drive up into the Andes alone was an adventure—scenic, exciting, and a great lead-up to what was to come. The hot springs are rustic, but truly stunning. We were lucky enough to have snow falling while we were soaking, which made the experience feel completely magical. Afterward, we headed to a charming, authentic German-style lodge for a BBQ. Walking in to an open fire with Chilean wine and pisco sours waiting for us was the perfect touch. The food was fantastic—and there was plenty of it! The hospitality from everyone involved was warm and genuine. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this tour. Sitting in the hot springs high in the Andes was an unforgettable highlight—truly a wonderful experience.
