Ohne Zweifel ist der Sani Pass einer der spektakulärsten und landschaftlich schönsten Gebirgspässe Afrikas. Diese Tour ist ein Muss, wenn Sie nach Kwa-Zulu Natal reisen. Der Pass windet sich steil durch den Gipfel der Drakensberge und durch den Grenzposten Lesotho. Viele abenteuerlustige Reisende aus der ganzen Welt nehmen dies auf ihren Reiserouten mit, um die atemberaubende Naturlandschaft zu erkunden, die dieser prekäre Berg zu bieten hat. Die geführte Tour erfordert keine körperliche Fitness und ermutigt daher Menschen jeden Alters. Sie werden um 6:00 Uhr von Ihrer Unterkunft in Durban abgeholt und kommen um ca. 18:00 Uhr zurück, je nach Wetter und Verkehr. Die Tour bietet einen unvergesslichen Ausblick. Sie werden den höchsten und ikonischsten Pass des südlichen Afrikas erobert haben.

Diese Tour ist für jedes Alter und Fitnessniveau geeignet. Die Dauer dieser Tour beträgt ungefähr 6 Stunden mit einem Transfer von ungefähr 2,5 Stunden von Durban und dem gleichen bei der Rückkehr. Sie fahren um 6:00 Uhr von Ihrer Unterkunft in Durban ab. Wenn Sie sich außerhalb von Durban aufhalten, kontaktieren Sie uns bitte, um zu bestätigen, ob ein Aufpreis erforderlich ist. Bitte bringen Sie Ihren gültigen Reisepass mit. Es wird empfohlen, eine warme Jacke, eine zusätzliche Flasche Wasser, Sonnencreme, ein Fernglas und Ihre Kamera mitzunehmen. Während Ihrer Fahrt von Durban aus passieren Sie die historische Stadt Pietermaritzburg und biegen dann in Richtung der südlichen Drakensberge ab. Wenn Sie weiter in die Berge fahren, kommen Sie an kleinen malerischen Dörfern und weiten Feldern vorbei. Bei Ihrer Ankunft in Underberg werden Sie von einem professionellen Sani-Pass-Führer abgeholt und in ein 4x4-Fahrzeug gebracht. Sie fahren an Ackerland und den Ausläufern der Drakensberge vorbei zur südafrikanischen Grenzkontrolle. Dann beginnt die Tour im Ernst. Auf einer 8 Kilometer langen Schotterstraße steigen Sie 1000 Meter durch ein Weltkulturerbe und eine herrliche Landschaft zum Grenzposten von Lesotho. Oben erreichen Sie eine Höhe von 2840 Metern. Während des Passaufstiegs können Sie eine Vielzahl von Vögeln, Eland, Pavianen und kleinen Böcken beobachten. Endemische Fauna und Flora sind in diesem Weltkulturerbe reichlich vorhanden. Nach der Grenzkontrolle von Lesotho fahren Sie in die abgelegenen Hochländer von Lesotho. Sie können sogar einige der schwer fassbaren Basotho-Hirten sehen, die mit traditionellen Decken bedeckt sind und traditionelle Kopfbedeckungen tragen. Sie werden ein kleines Dorf besuchen, das ursprünglich gebaut wurde, um die lokalen Hirten zu unterstützen und ihre Steinhäuser zu sehen. Ihr Reiseleiter erklärt Ihnen die Lebensweise und die täglichen Rituale. Danach geht es in Richtung Highest Pub in Africa zum Mittagessen und zu Getränken (auf eigene Kosten). Am Rande des Steilufers haben Sie hervorragende Fotomöglichkeiten von den vorderen Decks des Restaurants. Nach dem Mittagessen kehren Sie über die Grenze zurück und schlängeln sich durch die erstaunlichen Sani Pass-Kurven, eine der spektakulärsten Szenen in Afrika. Mit vollem Bauch und vielen Erinnerungen werden Sie von Ihrem Fahrer für Ihren Transfer zurück nach Durban empfangen. Eine echte Gelegenheit, nicht nur die Pracht dieses Passes zu sehen, sondern auch ein anderes Land

Amazing experience!! A super smooth ride from Durban to Sani Pass + Lesotho and back all in the same day in a comfortable vehicle! Everyone was so nice and the pictures of Sani Pass do NOT do the Drakensburg justice.. the landscape blew me away and it was truly the highlight of the entire trip even though everything else we saw on our trip was amazing! As mentioned, everyone from the organizer to the guide to the driver were super friendly and gave us lots of good insight and history and background along with the experience itself! Would love to travel with them again!!

I made this reservation at the last minute, and I worked with Yolanda on the phone. She was able to put together a very last minute trip for me and my friend, and coordinated a ride from the cruise terminal in Durban with Xolani to Underberg, where we changed vehicles and did the Sani Pass trip with Patrick. Patrick was excellent, and gave us the history of the area. We crossed the border into Lesotho, and drove to a village and met with the villagers, who shared their culture and dance/songs with us. The weather wasn’t perfect, but the day was, and we got to see so much in a short amount of time. I would highly recommend Major Adventures for this trip!
We had a wonderful time on this tour. Our guide Allen was extremely knowledgeable about both South Africa and Basotho and masterfully drove up the difficult pass. We saw baboons, danced with Basotho locals, and got some breathtaking views.

The expirience was amazing. Driver was very expiriences, the people that we met were international young students and they were fun to be with. We helped each other. Lesoto people were great. Defenately a warm jacket was useful and needed. I would advise that people bring actual cash as we had an u ha memoment when we just finished eating and the card machine declined all our bank cards from different banks😁
Good Afternoon, some very great feedback for those thinking of doing the Sani Pass Day Tour. Lesotho can get up to 10 degrees cooler than South Africa. Jackets, Sunscreen and Cash is always advised to travel with. Loadshedding plays havoc in our Country, including Lesotho, and we are very sorry that this impacted on your trip. Warren the tour guide was fantastic!He was so knowledgeable about everything and real’y took his time to make sure our tour was flawless.We did have a pick up from Durban which was not organised that well so we would suggest confirming this with Major adventures the night before!Other than that,get a tour with Warren!He is the BEST!

Regarding the transfer from Durban - we depend on clients providing us with the exact pickup address in Durban. While Cameron gave us a pickup address, this is not where the driver eventually found you both. We were with a travellers group. In 4 jeeps the very skilled drivers drove us through the Sanipass and told us about the flora and fauna in the surroundings as well as the history in that place. Seeing nature changing the higher we drove was extraordinary. Never felt and tasted such cold and fresh water from the mountains. The views were amazing and being in Lesotho was beautiful, again experiencing another culture within a culture.

We had an amazing day with our guide Elias. He was a wealth of valuable knowledge. The drive up the Sani Pass was gorgeous. Don’t leave Lesotho off your itinerary! It makes for a very long day if you’re coming from Durban, but it’s worth it and completely doable!
