Unsere Tour führt uns auf die rauen Kiesebenen der Namib-Wüste und wir erfahren, wie sich Pflanzen und Tiere an diese feindlichen und rauen Bedingungen angepasst haben. Wie Pflanzen und Tiere von der Feuchtigkeit des Nebels überleben, die Entstehung der 400 Millionen Jahre alten Mondlandschaft und wie die uralten Welwitschia-Pflanzen wachsen. Welwitschia-Pflanzen von bis zu 1500 Jahren sind zu sehen Dann fahren wir südlich vorbei an Dune 7 in Walvisbay zum Ramsar Feuchtgebiet und Lagunengebiet, um Tausende von Flamingos und anderen Watvögeln zu sehen, vorbei an den rosa Salzseen entlang der Küste auf die wunderschönen und atemberaubenden Sandwich Harbor Dünen. Wo Meer auf Dünen trifft. Diese Ganztagestour führt Sie von Swakopmund in die Kiesebenen der Namib-Wüste, wo kleine Lichenfelder sind, und weiter in die 400 Millionen Jahre alte Mondlandschaft....Sie fühlen sich wie auf dem Mond.... dann weiter zum Blick auf die 1000 Jahre alte Welwitschia Mirabilis Pflanze, die in dieser Gegend wächst. Diese Pflanze hat nur 2 Blätter und die Blätter wachsen aus dem Stängel, vom Wind verwüstet reißen die Blätter... etwas wirklich Einzigartiges
Wir halten an dieser Wasseroase von großer Bedeutung für Swakopmund und sehen, wie sich die Geschichte entwickelt hat
wir sehen die weite und 500 Millionen Jahre alte einzigartige Mondlandschaft. Sie fühlen sich wie auf einem anderen Planeten. Dieses Gebiet hat 2 Eiszeiten und viele Vulkanausbrüche und Lavaströme überstanden
Die 1500 Jahre alten Welwitschia-Pflanzen wachsen nur auf den Welwitschia-Ebenen. Wir sehen uns diese einzigartige und prächtige Pflanze an und erfahren, wie sie unter diesen rauen Bedingungen überlebt
Die Tour führt zurück nach Walvis Bay, vorbei an Düne 7, wo sich die Flamingos und 500.000 andere Watvögel in der Lagune von Walvis Bay aufhalten. Wir fahren an den rosafarbenen Salzseen vorbei zum Strand und hinunter zu den hoch aufragenden Dünen der Walvis Bay. Vielleicht sehen wir unter den vielen Robben auch Robben und Schakale.
Sandwich Harbour ist der Ort, an dem Düne auf Meer trifft. Wir haben einen schmalen Strandstreifen, an dem wir entlangfahren können. Gezeitenabhängig und sehr schön. Wir fahren hinauf zu den hoch aufragenden Dünen und genießen die beste Aussicht auf die Dünen aller Zeiten. Es ist atemberaubend, es ist wunderschön. Sein Sandwich Harbour. Es ist eine Dünenachterbahnfahrt mit erstaunlichen Farbkontrasten, absolut EINZIGARTIG. Wir begeben uns auf eine kleine Pirschfahrt auf der Suche nach dem Leben in der rauen Wüste und müssen leider nach Hause zurückkehren. Der Zugang zum Hafen von Sandwich ist von den Gezeiten abhängig und der Reiseleiter am Tag entscheidet, in welche Richtung die Tour gefahren wird, vielleicht zuerst Sandwich und dann Welwitschia.

Wonder trip out to Sandwiche Habour and then to the moon/lunar landscape, seeing wild life and flora on route. Stephan did a great job pointing out the wind life and flora. Whilst also vehicle surfing the sand dunes. Plus went out of his way to show more of the lunar landscape in the afternoon. Highly recommend going for those wanting to appreciate what Swakopmund region has to offer in a short space of time.

We paid $438 for 2 persons for this all day tour. They met us at the cruise port right at the end of the pier and all seemed very professional and friendly. We loaded up into three different 4x4 SUV trucks (3-4 people per vehicle), stopped for a restroom break and to pick up lunch before heading to Welwischia, which was a drive down the highway and then through flat desert plains before arriving at the canyon moonish landscape to look at some views and plants. This first part of the tour was about 3.5 hours and while somewhat interesting, definitely paled in comparison to the second half of the tour (a full 4.5 hours+)....which was to drive through a quick view of Swakopmund (no stops) and then off to the colorful pink lake and on to the magnificent Sandwich Harbour for lunch and dunes and amazing deserted beaches and ocean. Lunch was simple fare (fried meet, cheese, brownies, etc) set out on tables between the vehicles, and we all stood around and grabbed pieces along with apple juice or soda or beer (under the watchful eye of some nearby jackals and seals). The driving and views from the dunes were incredible and you really had to admire the skill and knowledge of all the drivers (no marked roads, no indications of "safe" dunes to drive on and over). Our guide and driver was excellent - friendly, informative, and answered all our questions. Overall, this was a very unique, professional, and enjoyable day where we got to see everything of significance in the region. While I originally thought the price was high for an 8-hour tour.....I came to find that almost all tours are expensive in Namibia, this is a very small and private experience, and these guys offer a very competitive price against others. No one coming to this area should miss Sandwich Harbour and I really think these guys are the best at showing it to you.

A great day tour with the great guide/driver who explained everything well in English. He also took us to areas that are not usually visited so often. You could feel his enthusiasm for his work and his fun driving through the desert. The desire to come back was awakened in us. Note: At the port exit, do not pay attention to a name tag, but go to the information stands and ask. Conclusion: highly recommended, hassle-free handling with fast communication!

Great day in Namibia! There was only one other couple on the trip and we had Len, a super-nice guide who explained the flora and fauna to us in a vivid and detailed way. He was also absolutely safe and drove with the necessary caution in the dunes, which are challenging to drive in. No unnecessary and dangerous stunts. You could tell at all times that he cared deeply about nature. Very good picnic lunch in the dunes away from the tourist caravans. The same was true in the Namib Desert, where we were mostly on our own. We were never pressed for time and had plenty of opportunity to experience nature and stop for photos. The organization was perfect, pleasantly unhurried. So if you come to Walvis Bay and you are looking for a really nice guide, "Ask 4 Len" ;-) And: greetings to Uwe! "Ask 4 Uwe" as well...
