A fabulous day out! Umberto was so lovely! Gave us a great run down of places as we travelled. Talked to us about lots of things and introduced us to a delicious dessert from a bakery on the way. We stopped for photo opportunities along the way. The beach was beautiful and water calming and cool! Probably the most relaxed day we have had so far! The journey was made even better by the clean, comfortable transport. Umberto obviously takes pride in his vehicle. Highly recommend this tour!
We were very excited to go to San Vito Lo Capo and see the beautiful beach pictured; however, it was a bit different when we got there. The beach was so crowded with chairs right next to each other. Being from Florida, where the beaches are long and have white sand, it was somewhat disappointing. Our driver Umberto, was very nice and accommodating. It was a long drive to the beach, and he gave us some good recommendations for places to shop and eat. We stopped and had the best pizza I have ever had, and enjoyed walking around the small beach town. The only downside was the cost. It was more expensive than most of our other private tours, but would still highly recommend it if you want to see this area of Sicily.
Tour guide was very knowledgeable. The beach was beautiful we wish we had more time but overall very nice day!
Great experience! Umberto is great tour guide, a lot of information about the places we have gone through. Very polite with great driving skills!
A lovely day with Christian as our guide. I highly recommend this private tour as it gives you a much nicer experience than an unpredictable group. Christian has been doing this a long time and knows a *lot* about Sicily, which made the drive over to San Vito Lo Capo meaningful. This area is SO rich with history and it was nice to have some context. San Vito Lo Capo is a beach town, with restaurants that are pretty decent for a tourist destination. Janet's strict gluten free celiac and the place we stopped at had good salmon pasta, though the tomato dish was severely lacking. The water is blue and pristine, and the waves are gentle enough for a super nice swim. There's a lot of people but if you pay for an umbrella spot and chairs (smartly preset all over the beach), it's a really nice setup. The only thing that might bug you is if people next to you are smoking--there was a whiff from time to time but it wasn't bad. I was able to relax on the comfy chairs. There's floatables for purchase. You will be approached to buy things. Do or don't. Some of it is fun and kitschy and the bathing suit wraps are *essential* for those who prefer femme attire. If you're bare chested on the beach being a shirt and make sure that you wear trunks/shorts to cover that speedo! There's a strict cover-up policy in the restaurants and town. for the critique: we were told that there would be places to change. This is patently wrong. There are WCs in the restaurants but nothing public. And you have to buy something to use it. There are showers that are 1 euro for 3 min. I had to hit the thing to get it to work but it came on lol. All in all expect a super nice time. I'd just hang out all day if I could. The water is amazing. Oh -- bring goggles if you want to swim.
We loved getting to know Umberto! He definitely has a passion for his county and great knowledge of the area. He was prompt with pick up and listened to our needs and interests. The beach was beautiful but be prepared for crowds, especially on weekends and holidays. You’ll want to rent a chair which will cost extra. Be sure to dine locally and try the local red-based pesto, absolutely delicious! Umberto took us to Grotto Maginpane, remnants an old-world civilization in a cave, at our request (which meant leaving the beach a bit early), but was well worth it. He took several family photos and stopped at all the “right” places. He even educated us on art and culture and places to dine back in Palermo.
My friends and I took this beautiful excursion, an amazing place... The person who knew how to make this day even more fabulous was the navigation commander, Enzo. His professionalism, hospitality, friendliness and kindness made everything even more wonderful.. Thank you Enzo. Cristina, Serena, Manila and Luisa
The seashore was absolutely beautiful. Our driver was wonderful telling us about the history of our location.
What a great experience to visit the coast of Sicily. Christian was very professional and courteous to my wife and I. Made stops when we asked and explained different areas and locations in the areas we were traveling. The free time on the beach was excellent! Almost 2 hrs on beach, took a shower for 3 euros, and had lunch at local spot. There are plenty of places to eat. Visit the church, and relax. Christian picked us up at our spot and took us back to hotel.
Umberto was a great guide. He gave us towels for the beach and great recommendations for where to eat and what to order (Caldo Freddo is fantastic!). My only recommendation is to eat before your pickup as we weren’t allowed to have the breakfast we picked up in his car!
