Treffen Sie Ihren Reiseleiter und Ihre Gruppe in der Old Adobe Chapel, die dank eines Buches aus dem Jahr 1884 für die Rettung der Altstadt von San Diego verantwortlich gemacht werden kann. Fahren Sie weiter zu einem der am meisten frequentierten Häuser in Südkalifornien, das auch aufgrund seiner Architektur und seiner Baumaterialien ungewöhnlich ist. Nach einem Blick auf viktorianische Architektur passieren wir den ursprünglichen Standort des Presidio und der Mission, als sich die Spanier zum ersten Mal in Kalifornien niederließen. Bewundern Sie das älteste Gebäude aus dem 18. Jahrhundert in der Gegend und erfahren Sie mehr über die indigenen Stämme, die hier Tausende von Jahren lebten. Zurück in der Stadt sehen wir uns einige authentische mexikanische Handarbeiten an (keine schlechten Souvenirs hier!), besuchen eine hundert Jahre alte katholische Kirche, die ein Nachkomme der ursprünglichen Mission ist, gefolgt von einem Spaziergang durch einen berühmten Friedhof mit Gräbern aus der Zeit 1850er. Unser letzter Halt ist eine lokale Tequileria, um mehr über die vielen verschiedenen Arten von Tequila zu erfahren. Entdecken Sie mit uns die ganze Geschichte von San Diego an dem Ort, an dem alles begann - in der Altstadt. Wir werden etwas über die Ureinwohner der Region erfahren, zusammen mit den Spaniern und darüber, wo sie sich niedergelassen haben und wie dies ein Teil von Mexiko wurde, bevor es ein US-Bundesstaat wurde. Unterwegs werden wir Geschichten von den Menschen hören, die hier gelebt haben und mit fantastischen Tacos und Tequila enden werden!
Wir beginnen unsere Tour in der Adobe-Kapelle, die erstmals 1850 als Wohnhaus erbaut wurde. 1858 wurde sie nach Schließung der Mission zu einer Kapelle und diente in dieser Funktion bis 1919. Wir werden erfahren, dass sie die Kulisse der fiktiven Figur Ramona war Hochzeit aus dem Roman von 1884, und wie dieses Gebäude die Nachbarschaft rettete.
Es gibt drei historische Gebäude an dieser Stelle und wir werden über alle sprechen und die jahrhundertealten Pfefferbäume bewundern. Das Whaley House, das vor allem für seine gespenstischen Bewohner bekannt ist, ist historisch gesehen nicht nur heimgesucht.
Diese viktorianischen Gebäude wurden hierher verlegt, um sie in den 1970er Jahren vor der wachsenden Stadt aus der Innenstadt zu bewahren. Alle diese Häuser stammen aus dem Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts.
Der längste Infanteriemarsch in der Geschichte der USA fand während des mexikanisch-amerikanischen Krieges in den Jahren 1846-48 statt und erinnert an diesen Ort.
Wo das moderne San Diego mit der ersten Mission und dem ersten Presidio (Festung) begann, die hier 1769 errichtet wurden. Nachdem dieses Gebiet aufgegeben wurde, zogen die Bewohner den Hügel hinunter zum heutigen Old Town State Park.
Dies ist der Nachkomme der Kirche an unserem Versammlungsort und über 100 Jahre alt.
Nach der Schließung des Presidio wurde dies der wichtigste katholische Friedhof in San Diego, und viele der frühen Bewohner von San Diego sind hier beigesetzt.

A really good in depth trip round old town and unexpected extras like trying tortillas and tacos would definitely recommend this tour it's about 3 hours

I book tour on a last minute decision to get away with my girlfriend. It was something that we both needed. We got there a couple of minutes late but were able to catch up with the group. I must say our tour guide Jennifer did an amazing job. Not only gave us a tour around old town San Diego, but was nice, friendly, funny and gave us some history facts of Old Town that my girlfriend and I both enjoyed. We ended the tour at El Agave Restaurant and Tequileria. I must say the restaurant was nice. Tequila bottles everywhere. Friendly staff. Tacos were really good. The drinks were top tier 10/10. Thank you to Daniel for making the best margaritas ever. We will definitely be back to Old Town soon.

We enjoyed this experience as there were only three of us so it was easy to ask questions and hear all the commentary. Our guide, Jennifer, was great. The route was a fairly easy walk with only one long hill. The tacos and tequila was a perfect way to end the tour. The restaurant was very nice and outside the main part of Old Town so quiet and relaxing.
