Fahren Sie über das 'Qara'-Gebirge. Auf einer Straße, die im Zickzack einen vertikalen Hügel hinaufführt, werden häufig Kamel- und Rinderherden gesichtet, die einen malerischen Blick auf eine der Dhofari-Umgebungen bieten. Halten Sie an und besuchen Sie Wadi Doka am Anfang des Bezirks Najd (Halbwüste), 35 Kilometer nördlich von Salalah in Richtung Thumrait (Beduinensiedlung). Kommen Sie in diesem UNESCO-registrierten Nationalreservat an, das 1230 mehrjährige Weihrauchbäume auf einer Fläche von 5 km enthält, und erleben Sie diesen wertvollen berühmten Baum. Neben seinem Duftduft wird Weihrauch auch als Heilmittel verwendet
Fahren Sie nach Thumrait Town, um sich ein paar Minuten zu erfrischen und den Geschmack der arabischen Tasse Kaffee (Qahwah) und Dates (Tamer) zu genießen. Die Stadt Thumrait war ein wichtiger Punkt auf den alten Weihrauchhandelsrouten. Machen Sie sich bereit für die nächste Station der verlorenen archäologischen Stadt Ubar.
Besuchen Sie die legendäre Lost City von Ubar, die 1992 mit Hilfe von NASA-Satelliten entdeckt wurde. Optional ist der Eintritt für 3 OMR pro Person möglich (nicht im Tourpreis inbegriffen). Alternativ können die Gäste einen kostenlosen Fotostopp von außerhalb genießen, wobei der Fortgeschrittener die Geschichte und Bedeutung dieser antiken UNESCO-Stätte erzählt. Diese Option gibt mehr Zeit, um die schönen Wüstendünen zu erkunden.
Reite durch die Dünen, jage dem Licht nach und beende den Tag mit einem goldenen Horizont. Erleben Sie den Nervenkitzel des Dünenschlagens über dem majestätischen Leeren Viertel, und halten Sie dann auf den höchsten Dünen inne, um die Sonne zu beobachten, die zu Wellen aus Sand schmilzt. Eine perfekte Mischung aus Adrenalin und Ehrfurcht in einer der abgelegensten Wüsten der Welt.

What a wonderful adventure into the Arabian Desert! Mohammed was the perfect guide as we toured first the Frankincense trees and he even brought me my own bag as a souvenir! The Desert trip is far but worth the journey! I highly recommend bringing a bottle of wine to watch the sunset. Photos were worth the trip.

Sunset in the desert is definitely a unique and unforgettable experience. But also the journey in the plateau that precedes and full of charm. The trip also includes some stops, all spectacular, in the Wadi, at the top of the mountains and sunset over the sea. A big difference in these days is the guide. HAMID was fantastic and was able to give us special moments, just in those less touristy and obvious things.
