I love a relaxing beach getaway while on a cruise and this was just that! Easy to find our meeting location; 20 minute drive on a nice air conditioned bus; arrived early and easily got front row beach lounge chairs. We were quickly greeted by a friendly staff offering us chair cushions and drinks. We booked the all-inclusive package and the staff came by frequently for drink orders and food. We all really liked the taco plates. It was a quiet, peaceful, relaxing, uncrowded morning on a nice white sand beach (not bothered at all by vendors). We were encouraged to use the beach shoes (free) as the beach entrance is rocky. Bathrooms were clean--there was an attendant there; they are older and not in the best shape. Not much to see snorkeling-wise and there is a charge for equipment. There was a big storm the day before we arrived so there was some seaweed but not much.
How can I explain the horror that this represents? Our cruise ship set this up when our first excursion cancelled for some reason. The road to this unmarked resort was a dirt road full of potholes. The toilet was dirty with a broken flush handle. The food was at best sketchy. The hamburger tasted like dog food. We had to get our own mats and cushions to cover our loungers because the ones the staff put on had either blood or other bodily fluids on them. The beach was a roped off area. Snorkeling was available but there was nothing to see because it was a beach and there were hardly any fish. The pool was roughly 7 ft square and 3 ft deep. Think a resort hot tub but without the Jets or heat. The cabanas were supposed to be complimentary but they tried to charge us when we asked to use them and they have them roped off. All in all this place is a nightmare. Go anywhere else if you can.
Took a family trip here and it was absolutely amazing. We booked this Through our cruise ship excursions. It was supposed to be 4 hours and it was only maybe 3 max. As we only had 1 hour on the beach and thought we would be there half the day.
The beach club offers all-you-can-eat food and all-you-can-drink beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. The food was decent, the drinks were strong, and activities are included, which was a nice bonus. I especially appreciated that the beach was not crowded, allowing me to relax and enjoy the space comfortably. The bathrooms and showers were very clean and well maintained. There is a very small kiddie pool, but otherwise no pools or jacuzzis, which is something to be aware of if you are expecting those amenities. They also do not have lockers. One issue I experienced was with service at the beginning. I sat on the beach for about an hour before a waiter approached me. After they realized I spoke English, the level of attention noticeably improved. As a Hispanic/Latino guest, I felt there may have been an assumption that I was local, and the change in attentiveness after hearing me speak English felt uncomfortable. I would suggest staff be attentive to all guests from the start and not allow long periods to pass before checking in. Overall, the staff were friendly, and the food, drinks, and relaxed atmosphere made for a pleasant beach day, though the initial service experience could be improved.
Very nice pristine beach, with clear, turquoise, warm water. Service was nice and friendly staff. I enjoyed my time spend there. Highly recommended.
We came with a large group for Salsa making, Salsa dancing, drinks and beach. What a great experience. Service was incredible, food was delicious and our host, Angel was fantastic. We loved the beach and additionally that they provided water shoes and showers. We brought our own towels. Fantastic day!! Well done.
Dated, poor food quality, and pools were murky. Of all the beach clubs, this one desperately needs a refresh. The food was poor quality, drinks were watered down, slides weren’t open, the water course wasn’t blown up, and the pool water was so murky you couldn’t see the bottom. Head to other beach clubs, until they can get someone to clean this up!!
Isla Mia changed locations and did not have the inflatables, pool, or water slides that were advertised.. The beach was so treacherous, they gave out water shoes. When we arrived, a woman was being attended to by a medic because of cuts.
Nice, quiet and clean. The food was delicious. The staff just needs to be a little more prepared for the guests, but I would definitely visit again.
If I could leave zero stars I would. Our excursion was awful. We arrived at the place and it was nothing like the pictures and description, completely different location (no water slides, no childrens play area, etc). We were informed that the ownership "changed last week." They offered to put us back in a cab & when we inquired if it would be on their dime we were told, "absolutely not." It cost my family $60+ tip EACH way to get to the location and back to our cruise ship. My children were sorely disappointed. Others there also felt the same; some even had gone to the other location and said it was incredible. We weren't offered any form of compensation to make up for anything (food, banana boat ride, NOTHING). And, forget asking Viator to help, you get the same generic customer service response. They don't care, they already have your money!
