Romantik & Magie in Sintra: Eine Reise durch Kunst & Architektur

My wife and I spent a lovely day in May, 2026 touring Sintra and the surrounding area with Carolina.  She was highly recommended to us by some good friends and we want to pass on that recommendation.  The trip was so easy, with pick-up and drop off at our Lisbon hotel and everything perfectly planned in between.  She was extremely knowledgeable about history, architecture, places, flora and fauna, people and, perhaps most importantly, how to avoid the crowds and the traffic.  A big plus was that she is a delightful person who truly enjoys showing off her beautiful country.  We are so glad we didn't try to do that portion of our trip without her.  If we ever make it back to Portugal, we will certainly make use of her time and talents again!

The private tour was an absolute first for me, and I do not want to miss it again! But only with Carolina. She is very connected to nature, and her love for Portugal and Setúbal is something she shares with you, and you can truly feel it. We took a tour to Sintra and Pena Palace, incredibly beautiful and unforgettable! Many moments will remain in my memory, such as the delicious apple pie on the way to the ocean. I particularly enjoyed the interesting facts and details from the history of Pena Palace. The whole tour was the highlight of my trip. I would wholeheartedly recommend Carolina Tours!

Lovely day with a kind, energetic and knowledge host. Carolina loves to share the history and culture of the area as well as information about the flora and fauna.

We just got back from a fabulous day with Carolina in Sintra. She was so friendly from the moment we met her and was such a knowledgeable guide. You can tell that she loves what she does and enjoys being with people. By the end of the day I felt like we were old friends. This tour was perfect. It wasn’t the same as what all the other companies were doing, which is why I picked her. We weren’t disappointed. It was advertised as a shared small group tour but we were the only ones on the tour with her so we had her full attention. I would definitely recommend her to others. Carolina Inês of Carolina Tours is an extraordinary guide – she is warm, articulate, and extremely knowledgeable about Portugal’s social and political history, flora, fauna, food, wine, port, and demographics. In excellent English, Carolina excitedly shares her love for Portugal and all it has to offer. She took me with my husband on a tour of Sintra, its environs, and several surrounding coastal areas, including Cascais and gorgeous, less-travelled Azenhas do Mar and Praia da Ursa. Carolina is an excellent driver with a meticulous van whose charges are reasonable. We had a glorious day filled with information, beauty and laughter that exceeded all our expectations. You can’t find a better guide than Carolina.

She can handfully talk about different names of the trees on the way, she shares a lot interesting information with us about vegetations. She is very artistic and romantic that she can easily share impressive side stories about the scenic spots and history of the place. She introduced us about different architectural styles from different historic periods and the tour is a fun and innovative lesson to us. We enjoyed listening to her sharing :) Thoughout the visit, she makes sure everyone is on track and can follow the pace, she checks on everyone from time to time. The one day trip is very fruitful. From the old village Sintra, to Cabo da Roca, Guincho Beach, Cascais and Pena Palace... More than words can describe how grateful we are ❤️ Another fun fact observed is that, we can see Carolina is really kind and sincere, she greets her friends and colleagues on the way, she has friends around.
