Roatan Private Schnorchel Erfahrung

This was a great excursion. Our guide, Yule, took care of us from start to finish. Transportation to and from was very convenient. The reef was beautiful.

We avoided the cruise ship options in favour of booking this private excursion. Good idea! These guys were awesome, right down to accommodating my husband's big feet in fins. We got to see the islands underwater beauty with just five of us in the water! No one else, so great.

Outstanding experience. Guide was knowledgeable, took us to 3 different spots. Each spot was fantastic. I've snorkeled well over 30 times and this was by far the best snorkeling I've experienced. We did this on the shore day from our cruise ship. Driver was there waiting on us, location was short distance from cruise port and we were in the water in less than an hour. Highly recommend this company for all ages.

We had a wonderful snorkeling experience with Roatan Ocean Adventures. Herbert picked us up from our hotel, was a delight to talk to and learn from, and also accompanied us on and drove the boat. (We also got to meet two of his cute dogs!). Our snorkeling guide prepared us well for our experience and in the water, our guide Joseph was a wealth of information. We saw barracuda, trumpetfish, and a variety of parrot fish species. It was amazing. The reef was beautiful and water calm.

We snorkel everywhere we go, and this was top notch. Our guide made sure we were safe and explained and named every fish we saw. Amazing experience totally recommend it. Ariel was the best! And our driver Michael was so helpful.

Our snorkeling adventure with Roatan Ocean Experience was truly unforgettable! We booked a private boat tour, and from start to finish everything was beyond amazing. The crew taught us so much about the island and its marine life, and the snorkeling itself was breathtaking — crystal-clear water, beautiful coral, and so many vibrant fish. Our driver was just as incredible! She picked us up, showed us around the island, took us to the chocolate factory, and explained so much along the way. She also looked out for us when shopping and made sure we didn’t get taken advantage of. She even took us to a wonderful local restaurant where we had the most amazing fresh seafood — truly a highlight of the day! We had the best time and I honestly can’t wait to go again. Roatan Ocean Adventures is my go to excursion tour operator in Roatan, Honduras. I always book them when our cruise stops here. Herbert and his team of professionals always treat us like VIPs. We have been coming here for 10 years now and we always try something new each time on our private tours with him and his team. I’m always impressed by the high level of service, reliability and experience that we have. The snorkeling is amazing here on this island, beautiful and healthy corals. The coral fans are my favorite, so delicate and beautiful. The reef must be very healthy to support such life here. I loved getting to see the sloths, such beautiful creatures. The guys who take you out on the boats are fun loving and very knowledgeable about where to look for cool fish and wildlife. Shout out to Garrick! I can’t wait to return soon and go on another adventure with ROA!

Our family of 6 ( including an 8 and 11 year 11-year-old) was greeted outside the port shortly after docking. I am embarrassed to say that I do not remember our driver/guide for a day name, but she helped make. this trip perfect. This private tour was arranged through Roatan Ocean adventures and I communmicated our special needs via. phone and email. They responded in a timely manner and were able to adjust the trip as we went along. For example, my daughter broke her shoe and we diverted into a shoe store where she was able to pick up a pair with the help of our guide. She also told us all about the island as we drove. We started the day at Daniel Johnson, and the chidren were able to hold the birds and allow the monkeys to land on them. We knew ahead of time that we could only look at the sloths and were no longer able to hold them, so there was no disappointment. We were then taken for a 5-minute ride to our snorkeling location. We had a private small boat and 2 guides who both entered the water with our group. This was very important because my grandchildren have special needs and have sensory issues. They were attentive to both children. I loved that they had noodles on board ( although they were short 2, so my daughter happily used a life jacket). We stopped often as the guides helped the kids with their masks and calmed my granddaughter.. They consulted with us as to the type of snorkeling we wanted and opted for deeper at first, and then a shallow experience. I requested that there be fruit and chips on board and the children and adults alike were kept fed throughout our two-hour journey. They also had bottles of water. When we arrived back at the dock, our wonderful guide was waiting. I told her that we no longer wanted to go to a beach or a restaurant, but chose the chocolate factory she recommended, as it would only take about 15-30 minutes and was on the way back to the port. It was less of a factory and more of a store, but we all got our fill of free chocolate and bought some bars to take home. We also purchased tacos and island beer in the store near the parking lot. I would say that this day and tour was a 10/10!! All of our requests were met, and having a private tour allowed us to move at our own pace. I loved how we were never rushed and made to feel special.

We enjoyed this tour from start to finish. Herbert (Herbito, cause now we're friends!) is a locally born native to Roatan and knows EVERYTHING about the island. He's informational and pleasant and very accommodating. We did a full day with him and toured the West End, stopped at the chocolate factory for some of the best chocolate in the world (and buy the cocoa butter, too...your skin will thank you!) and lunch at Snappers. Our favorite part, though, was the drift snorkeling near his dock. I've snorkeled all over the world and this was in my top 3. Beautiful, healthy, HUGE reef. Our guide Joseph was top notch and was able to point out a variety of fish, Moray eels, barracuda, starfish, conch and the list goes on. Absolutely an epic day on the water and I can't wait to come back! The boat was clean, comfortable and the equipment was top notch. We will definitely be back and will book with Herbito and his crew again!
