Das Zentrum des historischen Viertels von Cali, wo sich die Leute zur Mittagszeit treffen, nach der Arbeit Freunde treffen, Dominosteine spielen, ein Nickerchen machen.
Der berühmte Salsasänger, Komponist und Tänzer aus Cali, Kolumbien, erinnert mit seiner Statue im Parque Obrero an seine lange Salsa-Karriere.
Wir sehen weiterhin einen Ort, an dem die Geschichte von Cali noch heute lebt. Die Menschen der "alten Schule" kommen zusammen, wie sie es seit Jahrzehnten tun, in den Wurzeln der Salsa. Tolle Atmosphäre, authentische Dekoration und schöne Leute. Sie haben die Möglichkeit, mit den legendären Salseros der Stadt zu tanzen.

The tour was great. I was in low season and since we were just two on the tour, we got a super personnalised tour. Suzanna was our guide and brought us to lots of different place to know more about salsa history : music, singer, dance and instruments. She passed to us her passion of salsa music and the sense of community that music brings. I recommend.

We shared a fantastic evening of live music, dancing and drinking with Susana and Carlos Mario. Not only was it a great introduction to Salsa's formation, history and development but also a great way to see different sides of Cali's vibrant culture through it's musical landmarks. Our special thanks for finishing the tour at the Andean dance event at the Parque Artesanal Loma de La Cruz (on Thursdays). Sharing this type of unique, lively, positive and communal experience with visitors is sure to attract more new-comers to Cali and made us wish we had more time to stay longer in this fascinating city. I was able to join the tour because I ran into the tour group at the museum, and I am so glad that I did! The guide has lived in Cali for a decade, and truly loves Cali. She shared generously of her knowledge and experiences of the culture, and took us to places that were authentic, with lots of local people. I am falling in love with Cali! I highly recommend the tour. We ended with dancing with hundreds, probably thousands of people on the street. Que rico!

She is amazing! She loves salsa and knows Cali salsa scene 100%. We first meet at the Jorge Varela plaza then we went to salsa museum, local salsa clubs where we meet real hard core salseros. We enjoyed the tour.

Susanna and her friend are excellent guides. It exceeded my expectations, because not only were we soaked in salsa, but we learned to play some instruments and visited very interesting places, such as a good salsa museum, places where old and young dance all styles and finally a street party that shows the spirit and roots of the people of Cali. He who wants to, dances. He who does not dance, plays. He who does not touch, converses. And if you don't talk, you can have a good rum too!...Our group was very entertaining. If I return to Cali, I return to this tour!

Such an enlightening experience. Susy and Chris were great so knowledgeable about the Salsa culture. I am so glad to have gotten this experience. Salsa is so sexy, especially if you can find a great dance partner. Watching the "seasoned" vets at the salsa club at the end of the tour was definitely the highlight. To see folks enjoying themselves from the simple pleasures of dancing is something a lot of Americans can take in. Susy's knowledge of Salsa is second to none. Her passion for the culture is clearly evident and she is also so very nice and easy going. It would take years to get to the talent level of the Caleños but some of the seasoned vets clearly still have it. This is a great excursion for those who want to slow down a little bit after going on adventures. Plus once you get to learn the basic steps, you can go out on the town and show off your "talent". Would definitely go again with friends from the states.
Rob, it is wonderful to read how you enjoyed the tour and could absorb at least some of our passion and knowledge of salsa. Because this is the shortest tour, only 3 hours! :) We will be adding more tours here and hope to see you again on one of them. The experience of visiting the Workers’ neighborhood on a Monday with RiCo Salsa Tour is an opportunity to see and experience the salsa after its history and present. The Salsa Museum left us full of wonder, managed by good people committed to the history of salsa and saucers. Like the experience of being dancing and enjoying with the people of the Workers neighborhood. This tour gives you the opportunity to really see the people of Cali and their love of salsa.

By far something that you need to do while in Cali! It was a delight to learn from Susanna. I would absolutely recommend everyone to go on this tour. Susanna is very knowledgeable and kind. Everywhere she took us was fantastic. Going to both the museum and club was like walking into a time machine.
