Had an amazing E bike ride! I am new to E bikes and Amanda patiently took the time to explain how everything worked and off I went! I was incredibly surprised how much fun it was, and having the turbo assist on the big grades was a big plus! I did some of the Highlands tour-- rode up to El Junco Lagoon and did a stop at Mirador de Soledad on the way back. So fun to see the farm animals in the backcountry. Then came back into town and rode to some different beaches... Loved being able to go at my own pace and stop and take in the sites without the crowds. I also felt extremely comfortable traveling solo on the roads! Would highly recommend this way of transport to see the island!

Ebikes were a great way to spend the morning before 3pm ferry and see a bit of San Cristobal that most people miss.We went up to the Lake via the ranch and then to Loberia beach for a swim and there were plenty of seals, iguanas The ebikes take most of the effort out that big hill. Easy to use. Return journey down is FAST! Stop in san cristobal town on the way back for a drink.Great to get away from the "crowds". Side tracks a bit muddy, ricky and fun. Main road has a bikepath half of the way, but not much traffic on the roads anyway. The lake was small but peaceful. Although masses of those little vampire flies, that seem to pay no heed to Deet! Contact shop direct to organise via whats app. They are not there all day, and appreciate a heads up!

We booked the bikes in April 2026, it is a great way to explore the rest of the island, on your own time. We loved it. But even on ebikes, it was quite a workout, so be ready to break sweat! Highly recommend it for all seeking adventure and exercise

Reliable Ebike rental, everything worked smoothly, super friendly people, well maintained almost new e-bikes. We went to the turtle sanctuary and with the long ascent in the heat these e-bikes are the way to go!

Rented a bike from DIY Galapagos in January 2026 and was impressed with both the service received and the quality of the bikes. Very impressive boost of power in turbo mode! Amanda was really responsive to email enquiries prior to my booking and messaged with details of the rental through WhatsApp as soon as I’d been through the payment process on their website. You also get an offline map with all the best spots to visit and little explainers. If you’re not very good with technology (like me), she’ll help set this up for you when you collect the bike! It’s a very handy guide as you move around the island. She also instantly responded to a query I had during the rental (was simply me being stupid in the operation of the bike!). A brilliant day out. We spent the morning cruising through the local neighborhoods and then headed up to the El Progreso area. It was so cool to see the transition from the coast to the lush highlands. The bikes are silent and smooth, which was great for spotting birds along the way. Huge thanks to the team for the trail maps and the secret tips on where to grab the best local lunch!

Honestly, I’m not a hardcore cyclist and I was worried about the humidity and the climb up from town. But the 'Turbo' mode on these Specialized bikes is no joke—it felt like someone was giving me a giant push up the hill. We made it to the La Soledad lookout, and it was so much better than being in a taxi or tour van. We had the wind in our faces and could stop for photos whenever we wanted.
