Reiten am Conchal Beach – 1 Stunde 30 Minuten geführte Tour

We had an incredible horseback riding experience at Conchal Beach! From start to finish, everything was organized, professional, and exceeded our expectations. A huge thank you to Rigo for his excellent communication before our tour. He responded to my messages quickly, made it incredibly easy to change our reservation time in advance and ensured we had all the information we needed for the meeting location. Our guide, Lester, was absolutely fantastic! He was friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and made the entire ride enjoyable and memorable. You can tell he genuinely cares about providing a great experience and making everyone feel comfortable, regardless of their riding experience. It was my first time my husband was horseback riding so Lester took great care of us from start to end, even spotting a baby deer! The horses were healthy, well-trained, gentle, and clearly very well cared for, which made the ride even more enjoyable. Riding along the beautiful beaches was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Costa Rica. I highly recommend Conchal Beach Horseback Riding to anyone visiting the area. We stayed at the W Playa Conchal. There is a sign from Rigo Tours once you leave the property onto the beach. Rigo offers ATV, horseback riding, waverunners etc. Basically, when you book with the Rigo person who's standing there (in our case it was young Joseph), he would call up those offering the services and they will bring whatever the equipment or horses right to you. The outfitter that actually provided the horseback riding was Costa Horses. It's totally ok to book with Rigo. Very smooth and not shady. We had an amazing sunset ride with Amando. This is not your typical nose-to-butt trail ride. You get to ride on the beach, and into town, and when there aren't many people around, you can run the horse if you feel comfortable doing so. We even took the horse into the water to a depth past my knee. If you are a beginner, they will give you a gentle horse suitable for your level as well. Amando took great photos and cantering videos for us at just the right spot with a beautiful sunset in the background.

Communication from staff was excellent. Any time we needed something, a helpful response was almost immediate through text. The guide tailored the horse ride based on if we had experience with horses or not. The horses were of good temperament and health. We rode through three beaches while our guide told us about the local area. Overall this was a very good experience.

An incredible day horseback riding on the beach with our guide Rigo! The horses were very calm and easy to ride even though we had never gone horseback riding before. We saw howler monkeys and got some incredible photos and videos too. Rigo was the best. Would definitely recommend.

We loved our instructor. He asked if we had experience and when we said yes he just let us go crazy on the horses. We were galloping down the beaches and through the woods behind the beaches with no real parameters. For gals who have ridden horse of before this was wonderful but one of our gals did fall off her horse because there was a low branch on the trail and the saddle wasn't tight enough. Just some bruising and they attended to her quickly. Two of the horses did have metal bridles and it made them quite jumpy. Noticed it was pretty exhausting for the horses to run in the ocean so we didn't do that for very long but you did have the option. Make sure you wear pants and these horses love to trot so for a woman who has had children I should have definitely brought some undy protection.

We asked for a horseback riding tour for an absolute beginner and one experienced rider. All communication upfront was done in english, however our tour guide did not speak english so I didn’t understand at all what to do so the experience was just terrible for me and the horse. My partner tried to help out a bit but it was hard for her as her horse had much more energy and always wanted to go faster, so we couldn’t stay close enough to talk. Sometimes my horse tried to catch up, went fast and I don’t even know how to control it. Was really fun - not. Worst thing is we needed to go on a busy road with cars and trucks. Good that all drivers paid attention as I could not have reacted to anything, the horse just was on autopilot trying to follow the other horse in front. ABSOLUTELY IRRESPONSIBLE. I brought back the horse at the first opportunity after like 20 min, so my partner could still enjoy the full ride. I confronted the organizer but he didn’t see any fault on his side and requested to get the full price. Forget about the money, but he just ignored my bad experience completely and he had no motivation to resolve the matter, for example by giving us another english speaking guide. Why not 1 star? I don’t blame the guide who did not speak English. He seemed to be very nice and would be great for anyone speaking spanish.
