Besucher besichtigen eine interaktive Ausstellung mit der Geschichte des echten Piraten "Black Sam" Bellamy und seiner sagenumwobenen Geliebten Maria Hallett. Besucher können echte Piratenschätze aus dem Wrack von Bellamys Schiff, der Whydah Gally, sehen und anfassen. Die Whydah war ein Piratenschiff, das 1717 nach einem heftigen Sturm vor der Küste von Cape Cod zerstört wurde. Artefakte und echte Schätze wurden aus dem Meeresgrund gezogen...umgeben von Haien...nach der Entdeckung der Schiffsglocke im Jahr 1984 durch den berühmten Unterwasserforscher Barry Clifford. Die Ausstellung wird regelmäßig mit der Entdeckung neuer Artefakte durch Archäologen vor Ort erneuert, die die Besucher mit eigenen Augen sehen können. Started the tour with a brief film overview of who and what we were going to see in the galleries. The artifacts and information signs were well displayed and flowed seamlessly. The murals really added to the experience. We appreciated the short bios of several of the crew members. And we all appreciated the friendly staff and the fact they didn’t pressure you with sales pitches for their gift shop. We highly recommend this museum.
This was a lovely excursion! I was greeted by the owner herself, and she was so kind. The presentation was awesome. The artifacts were great, and I really enjoyed myself with this museum. Easy access, great location. I would recommend this stop!

This is our second time, and it was Fascinating and hit the right spot between a fun experience and learning about the wreck of this amazing ship, the WHYDAH, that sank off the coast of Welfleet several hundred years ago with a reported $800 million in treasure.

Our boys really loved this, especially after they were scared by the witch show. The pirate made it extra fun for them. I also thought it was great, especially seeing the real pirate treasure. My youngest son bought something in the gift shop for only $11.99 where you get to dig for some pirate treasure and it was very cool, especially for the reasonable price.

This place was absolutely amazing! Captain Johnny Depths was fantastic—you can tell he genuinely loves what he does and is incredibly knowledgeable. The exhibits were fascinating, and seeing authentic pirate artifacts and real pirate treasure was such a unique experience. If you're visiting the area, this is definitely a must-see attraction. We found this to be a fascinating museum. It's specific to one ship wreck and the associated captain and crew, but very detailed. There are numerous actual artifacts that were recovered and well as some cast replicas. You got to learn about the various crew mates, life on the ocean in general, a pirate's way of life, etc. as you went through. At the end you get a satisfying update on how each of the pirates fared after this particular excursion. Highly recommend a visit.
