Der Cordillera-Regenbogenberg von Palccoyo ist die erste Schwester des berühmten Berges der sieben Farben, "Vinicunca", aber mit besserer Zugänglichkeit. Es sind mehr als neuntausend natürliche Hektar, die eine Farbe ähnlich dem Regenbogen haben, was ihm eine fröhliche und zugleich mystische Atmosphäre verleiht. Neben dieser geologischen Schönheit werden wir auch andere Stätten besuchen, die diese Tour zu einem unvergesslichen Erlebnis machen werden.

Wir holen Sie gegen 4:45 Uhr von Ihrem Hotel in Cusco ab und fahren dann durch das wunderschöne Südtal nach Checacupe. Dies ist eine schöne Kolonialstadt, in der Sie sich dehnen, einen Snack holen oder die Toiletten benutzen können. Sie sehen seine historische Seilbrücke, Kolonialhäuser und eine Kirche aus dem 17. Jahrhundert, bevor Sie weiter in Richtung Palccoyo Rainbow Mountain fahren. Unterwegs passieren wir abgelegene Andendörfer und Ihr Fortgeschrittener gibt Einblicke in das lokale Leben und die Traditionen. Am Trailhead genießen Sie eine Snackbox, bevor Sie die sanfte Wanderung zum Gipfel beginnen. Die Route führt vorbei am atemberaubenden Steinwald (Bosque de Piedras), einem Naturwunder schroffer Felsformationen. Von oben genießen Sie einen weiten Blick auf bunte Täler und verschneite Gipfel. Erfahren Sie mehr über Andenmythen und wie Einheimische sich mit der Natur verbinden. Nach der Erkundung steigen wir ab, halten in Checacupe zum Mittagessen an und kehren um 18:30 Uhr nach Cusco zurück.

High altitude hiking is not easy but doable. The guide was fantastic and supportive at all times providing us with essential oil to help with altitude sickness. The views from the top are fantastic albeit the colours are not as vivid as shown in the publicity pictures. There are 3 mountains which become apparent further up you go. Not an easy hike but very rewarding in the end.

We booked the Palccoyo Mountain Easy Tour wg the great description with the many included stops like Raqchi & Cuatre Lagunas and the later start time. When the tour was confirmed by the provider, these stops simply fell out. Without these stops we didn't want to do the tour. The provider did not want this and has not yet transferred any money.... Just bad!!!

We had a great time with Markos and Kevin as our tour guides. Spoke great English so it was easy to communicate. They also know the native language Quechua. We are from Orlando, Florida, USA and Markos and Kevin made us feel so welcome in his country. The drive from Cusco to the mountain was fun and scenic. Lots of alpacas and llamas! After the mountain, we went to the local restaurant that had delicious cafeteria style food. We are definitely coming back.

Well worth the visit. The Rainbow Mountains are quite distinct and interesting day trip from Cusco. The views are spectacular nd we even had a chance to interact and meet the people from the local community. Overall a fantastic and unforgettable experience.
had a time of my life on this tour to the Rainbow Mountains of Cusco with Marko, my guide. The tour was very nice with a lot of sights to see on the way up to the summit. Marko speaks good English and has a good knowledge and experience on treking up the Rainbow mountains. Every thing was just as it was mentioned in the itinerarty and well organised.
Marko is a wonder man, yes that´s what we named him. The trip was fantastic, Marko did a great job in organising this trip in a great manner.
